We are a family of avid outdoors-folk, sailors, windsurfers, hikers, naturalists.

Margaret purchased this house in 2001

We marvel at Point Reyes and the choices of fun fresh things to do in this boundless and well-protected natural preserve.

Shell Beach, Heart's Desire hikes, Bodega Bay for a tour of Hitchcock's set for The Birds and crab salad in town, oysters at Hog Island, dinner in Point Reyes, the local farmer's market on Saturdays, taking the hounds to Kehoe Beach for big tumbling waves, reading the paper at Drakes, blackberry picking in September...the list goes on and on!

MAGICAL PLACE

  • 5 of 5
We just completed a multi-generational family vacation (ages 5 to 80) and could not have found a nicer place to stay. It's even better than the pictures indicate. Comfortable and welcoming, the house has all the charm you could ever want. Margaret was so helpful and responsive, and we enjoyed renting what is clearly a beloved family home from her. It is private, without being remote, and within walking distance of tiny Inverness. Plan on groceries from Point Reyes Station (about ten minutes away), unless you only need necessities. The local "grocery" in Inverness closes at 7pm. The drive out to the National Seashore is well worth it, and several beaches are easily accessible, both there and at Tomales Bay State Park. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone seeking a relaxing, quiet rental. We could easily have stayed another week, and have already talked about going back next year!

A WEEKEND TO REPEAT!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this awesome home with our daughter, her husband, and 2 of their great friends. We were celebrating our daughter's graduation for the Academy of Art in San Francisco- then drove to Inverness for the weekend. The house sits on a beautiful wooded lot with a babbling brook- the dogs loved roaming and smelling all the wonderful scents. We took turns swinging on the rope swing and hanging out on the hammock; the house had everything you could want- wireless internet access, games, books, a well equipped kitchen and great sleeping accommodations. Margaret was very accessible and easy to communicate with. All in all- I would rate it a big 10! We are already considering going back next year and hopefully staying at the same location!

A GREAT FAMILY HOUSE

  • 4 of 5
We had a wonderful time connecting with our grown children at this warm and welcoming family home in Inverness. You definitely have a feeling of privacy, although the neighbors are close. The hiking and outdoor activities here are endless, and the house provided a great place to return at the end of the day to enjoy family time. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals. Margaret was very easy and accommodating- even mailing us an item that was left at the house! Thank you for sharing your house with us. We have stayed at numerous VRBO houses through the years. This was my sons favorite.

A MAGICAL HOUSE FOR OUR FAMILY VACATION

  • 5 of 5
We just stayed at this lovely house for the week over Christmas and could not have been more charmed by the house, location, and all the well thought out details inside! The pictures do not do it justice. There is a beautiful creek outside, and although there are houses close by, it took us a couple of days to realize it because it feels so private. Margaret was incredibly easy to work with and very kind. I could not have asked for more from the house or from her- except to have had more time there! We will definitely be going back.

WELL-LOVED HOME MET OUR NEEDS

  • 5 of 5
This vacation home met our needs perfectly. It is obviously a well -loved family home. It really functions well with the master bedroom upstairs and the other bedrooms in another wing of the house. It was comfortable and a real refuge at the end of the day. There are windows everywhere and a real sense of being in the country (complete with a babbling brook). We really enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning along with goodies from the Busy Bee Bakery. The owner was very easy to work with.

FABULOUS ACCOMODATIONS FOR A SPLENDID WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
I was part of a group of 7. The layout and location of the house was perfect! There were able dishes, seating and linens. I have already recommended this home to a friend who is searching for a coastal getaway. The location of the home was close enough to the shops and markets and yet situated off the main thoroughfare to enjoy the peace and serenity that abounds in Point Reyes. While in yhe area I would highly recommend hiking to the lighthouse. (be prepared for a workout but well worth it! We even saw whales!) Also on the must see and do is shopping at "Spirit Matters" which is a great shop located in Inverness Park...it's a very magical place. Another great thing to do is a your of the Cowgirl Creamery. Well worth the $5 fee and our tour guide, Cheryl, was great! Not to be missed is the Earthquake Hike. Point Reyes is right on the fault line and the path of the hike included informative signs. Last but not least, a HUGE shout-out to Tony's Seafood in Tomales Bay. I foolishly assumed getting fish in a town on the ocean would be easy. WRONG! If you're looking for oysters, no problem....they're everywhere! Thanks to Tony's Seafood, they were willing to sell, as well as fillet, fish for the meal we planned to prepare at home. Thanks for going the extra mile! In closing, the weekend at Point Reyes was relaxing and fun-filled. This home was the perfect accomodation for the lovely weekend! I plan on booking this residence in the future!
