Playa del Carmen is incredible! Outstanding beaches, sightseeing, adventures, water activities, sunshine, dining, dancing, and culture!
We love staying at our condo for ultimate relaxation and being able to walk everywhere without needing a car. Great restaurants and nightlife. We also love visiting all the Mayan Pyramids and learning about the Mayan and Spanish history. Lots of world class Golf Courses and Spas near by. The Yucatan is very tropical and the crystal clear blue water of the Carribean keep us coming back every year. Our location is great for singles and families. Great Music and Clubs with the BPM festival at the beach. Golfers and shoppers also have extensive opportunities to indulge.
We spent 4 days at Palma Cocos, what a wonderful condo! It looks very quaint, like old Mexico with tiles and adobe. The greatest part is the location, only a block from 5th ave and 5 minutes from the beach. And its QUIET at night! Some friends of ours stayed on the beach near Calle 14, and were kept up by loud music and talking all night. The apartment is a little dated, but cute and clean. There are lots of movies and DVD's. The pool on the roof is beautiful, with great night views. Jose the caretaker is very helpful. We had a great time there, can't wait to go back! Brent the owner sent a nice info packet with all the particulars about the apartment and area.
My husband and two year old son and I had just a couple days to spend in Playa Del Carmen during a week long trip we had planned to Mexico, and we ended up renting Palma Cocos for 2 nights. The only problem- we should have stayed longer. The condo fit our needs perfectly, was in an excellent location, was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We did some soul searching and decided that we have to go back next year, but for at least a week! Brent is very thorough with his communication packet and the suggestions he made, especially about the yoga studio next door and some restaurants, were wonderful! Thank!
I loved everything about this condo. It was nicely decorated, well-stocked, roomy and quiet. The location is ideal. Jose the caretaker is very responsive. I hate to tell the world about my find.
I will be back!
My husband, teenage daughter and I stayed in the Palma Cocos condo for three weeks in August. This place was huge and so comfortable. It had absolutely everything you could need. Including movies, music, books, towels, candles, kitchen utensils and appliances, games and more. I have arthritis in my hips and amazingly the bed didn't aggravate them at all. (Usually I have to buy 4 inch foam for my bed when I'm on vacation). We are not big into the night life scene but once in a while we loved our after dark walks along the beach (5 minutes away) and down the lovely 5th Ave which is very pretty at night (1/2 block away). We never felt unsafe. A couple of blocks from our place was the soccer field. This was another fun night time activity close by - if you like soccer you have to go - it's so much fun. Most nights the three of us took our music, drinks and snacks up to the roof top patio and swam and then played cards until well after dark. Then we'd finish our days watching movies on the DVD player in our bed room. We're home-bodies even while on vacation and being at "home" in our Palma Cocos condo was sooooo much better than being a home-body back in Canada. Every single day we went swimming in the pool. If you're like we were, and are hesitant about vacationing in Mexico during the summer, don't be. The weather was fantastic (sunshine all three weeks except for 2 days), prices were good, the service in restaurants is fantastic since it's not all that crowded and not once did we share the pool or patio with anyone. We practically had Las Palmas to ourselves. Sure it was hot but we got used to sweating profusely (excellent for keeping the weight off!). Coming home to our condo was always a treat as the air-conditioning cooled off the place lickity-split. Brent was a very kind host, making sure everything was ready for us when we got there. The manager and cleaners were also very nice. I can't say enough about this place. We've already recommended it to all our friends. When we go back to Playa del Carmen we will definitely stay in Brent's condo again. Thanks for everything!
Our favorite places to eat and go: El Fogons, Bad Boys Bar, Moms restaurant (if you like playing pool), catamaran day trip and zip lining and snorkeling in a cenote (two day adventure pack through Hidden Worlds - very cheap), Amazing Race on Cozumel, Great pizza around the corner at Don Tomato, snorkeling with the turtles at Akumal. I miss it all!!
We spent 2 weeks in this lovley place . It is well situated and quiet. 1min away from the 5th and 10min to supermarket. 5minto the beach. What do you want more ?
We returned a couple of weeks ago from Palma Cocos. We stayed 8 days and had a wonderful time. The condo is more beautiful than the pictures show, and the owners have done a lot of little touches to make it feel like a home away from home.
The beds are the most comfy in Playa. Let me repeat, the beds are the most comfy in Playa!!!! Water pressure and hot water were always perfect. Although we didn't use the kitchen much, the kitchen is the best stocked with gadgets, pots & pans of any condo I've stayed in.
The property and complex were in great condition. The manager lives on the lower level and was available if we needed anything.
Brent, the owner and his wife, were always an email away. They were very gracious with their time and answered any questions very quickly. The contract, instructions and information about the condo was very thorough.
Beaches on the north end of town are beautiful and Mamitas are a short walk away. We frequently walked down to the 12th - 14th Street part of town as we had friends staying there. It was an easy walk, as is any place in Playa. Taxi's are cheap if needed.
We enjoyed LaCueva de Chango for breakfast. A new french bakery opened on 34th St and 5th, Chez Celine. We enjoyed that also. La Pumarola and El Pescadore are on 24th St between 10th and 5th - both great. There are some great restaurants on 5th between 26th St and 30th.
All in all, a great time. My travelling partner is staying there again in April with some friends. Thanks for letting us share your lovely home away from home!
