Spectacular sunsets on a bird-haven marsh yet across from the best walking sandy Moody Beach with gorgeous sunrises. Location, location! Away from busy traffic, yet convenient to superb restaurants and shops. Quaint Ogunquit only 2 miles. Walk Maine's famous rocky coastal trail, The Marginal Way. Bring your bikes and kayak the marsh channel. Bar-b-cue on the outdoor grille. Large shady trees provide a natural canopy, as you may enjoy outdoor dining at the picnic table. Visit The Old Port of Portland (great dining and shopping) and the picturesque tugboat bay of Portsmouth. For amusements, journey to Old Orchard Beach and Fun Town USA (with a water slide). If retired, visit during the emerald green spring or the colorful foliaged autumn. (Avoid the crowds!)

Come to Maine in the spring!: Vacation in the spring and avoid the crowds. The birds have returned... many of the flowers and trees are ready to bloom... the marsh is emerald-green. You can feel the life of Southern Maine emerging! Of course sunsets, as well as sunrises, are always beautiful any season of the year.

Come to Maine in the Autumn!: The marsh becomes a splash of colors with the foliage of autumn. Sunsets are even more spectacular with the array of hues seen only during the fall. There is no need to travel far and inland to view the natural wonders and beauty of autumn, when you can capture the beauty just 1.5 hours from Boston. Have the best of all worlds: the sandy beach, the marsh, the rocky coastal trail of Ogunquit's famous Marginal Way and the annual Wells ' Chowda & Chillie' festival. Delicious! Don't forget the comical and delightful 'Strut your Mutt' day, usually the second week-end in September at Kennebunkport. It's a howl!

About Joy

...... retired science teacher. Being an avid birdwatcher, I love the marsh and beaches, which are havens for so many bird species. Also into exercise and fitness, I am in the best location for long beach walks, biking, kayaking, golf and tennis.

The Wells-Moody-Ogunquit area offers something for everyone ...... from physical fitness work-outs (biking, jogging, kayaking, golf, tennis) to just lounging on the marsh/beach with you favorite drink/snack. There are numerous nearby restaurants that offer the best seafood. In addition there is great shopping, as well as lots of entertainment ----- ranging from plays, concerts, movies, etc. My cottage is clean, conveniently-located and affordable.
