|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
You will never forget your stay in this luxuriously appointed, utterly charming 'jewel box' of an apartment on the magical island of Ile St. Louis. The beauty of this Parisian pied-a-terre is exceeded only by its perfect location.
Juliette's 650 s.f. can accommodate from 1 - 6 people (5 adults, maximum) and is best suited for a romantic retreat, a 'girls' getaway, or a small family. With its 'open' floor plan, it does not provide absolute privacy; if that is what you require, please contact us and we may be able to offer alternative accommodations.
Originally constructed in 1652, renovations were overseen by an award-winning French movie set designer; virtually every element is custom, from the 17th century hardwood floors to the hand-painted Renaissance era beams and exposed stonework. Nestled between the Left Bank (Latin Quarter) and Right Bank (the hip Marais district), our little 'island on the Seine' enchants with its narrow, cobblestone-lined streets filled with cafes, art galleries, gourmet restaurants, patisseries, chocolatiers and elegant boutiques selling antiques, traditional produce and fine foods and flowers. The 'Ile' is also home to the world famous glacier (ice cream purveyor) Berthillon, nearby. It is a five-minute walk to Notre Dame, and a short Metro ride (or walk) to every major tourist attraction and shopping area. This picture-perfect location - a favorite of visiting Americans and Europeans -- is everything you've imagined Paris to be. You will feel exceedingly comfortable and safe in this very special neighborhood.
Upon entering, you will be embraced by Juliette's warmth and unique character, which was lovingly created by its former owner, the wife of a French Senator, who scoured the flea markets and villages around Paris to create the ambiance of 17th Century France. At the same time, the apartment boasts the latest, modern amenities -- from WiFi and high-end appliances to luxury linens and a spacious travertine American style shower -- to make your stay completely convenient and comfortable.
One enters a small foyer equipped with an antique writing desk and bookcase filled with Paris guidebooks. The adjacent downstairs bedroom features two beds - a double in an alcove flanked by two spacious wardrobes, plus a second twin bed with storage neatly tucked under stairs leads to a romantic, low-ceilinged upstairs loft.
The large living space is spacious yet warm, and filled with wonderful antiques. A 17th century ship captain's safe serves as a stand for a flat-screen TV, and an 18th century portrait graces an antique hearth, which faces a comfortable daybed (which can accommodate a sixth guest). The space is illuminated by a beautiful crystal chandelier. A pretty dining table sits adjacent to a street-side ten foot classic French window, which bathes the apartment in light. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create perfect French cuisine, including a famous 'La Cornue' stove (the Rolls Royce of French cooking equipment), microwave, dishwasher (cleverly concealed in an antique hutch), a lovely buffet with marble-topped workspace, and a full complement of utensils, pots, pans, china and glassware. Cable television, DVD and CD player are accompanied by a selection of music and French-themed American movies to complete the ambiance. The stunning shower room features beautiful brass fixtures, crystal sconces and an antique chest/sink. The lavatory is in a separate room, with a unique ship captain's wash basin that complements the nautical theme. There is also a Miele washer/dryer.
An antique writing desk, equipped by a MAC desktop, WiFi printer, and travel guide filled bookcase is framed by another ten-foot window greenery-filled floor-to-ceiling French window; the perfect spot to pen a postcard or your Parisian memoirs.
THE ROMANTIC LOFT
You may not want to leave your cozy nest in the mezzanine loft, with a queen sized bed adjacent to an en suite bathroom featuring a wonderful Napoleonic era claw foot tub -- a perfect place to soak after a long day on the cobblestones. It also includes a sink and toilet. Please note that, while adding to the unique charm of this property, the low ceiling in the loft will require ducking for anyone of stature (over 5'5'); the loft is also open to the area below.
With its perfect central location and beautiful interior, updated with modern conveniences, this very special, historic apartment will make your experience in Paris all the more memorable. Juliette is a very special place from which to explore all the best that this magical city has to offer.
My husband and I spent two weeks in Paris--our first time in Paris--staying at this lovely, clean, and charming Juliette apartment. We were amazed that you could hear no street noise at all with the windows closed. The beds were substantial and super comfortable. Lots of outlets for charging camera, etc. Very good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the 3 bathrooms (we used loft bathroom only once--for the great clawfoot tub--so soothing for tired tootsies--just watch your head with ceiling height below five feet, as the picture shows).
The location is more than perfect. Not only can you walk to many top places of interest e.g. Notre Dame), but you could actually never leave the island at all, if you liked, as it has plenty of stores, restaurants, grocery, boulangerie, pattiserie, etc. Of course one MUST leave the island for the Paris experience. The walk to the Pont Marie metro stop on right bank was very convenient. We took the metro frequently...very easy to use.
And the help and support of Michele and David made for an anxiety-free trip...always there to help before and during the trip. We had left a bag of purchases (art and clothes) at a restaurant in the Montmarte and David called them on our behalf to see if was still there more than a day later (when we finally remembered it) and it was! He communicated to them our plan to return the next day to retrieve it. All of Michele's advice is excellent and especially the idea to go to Café St. Regis if you arrive before check in time. Best Eggs Benedict in Paris (probably). We returned for breakfast a few more times (when not getting pastries from one of the three nearby shops).
Two recommendations to pass along--We recommend Les Ombres restaurant--a roof top location with sparkling view of the Eiffel Tower and the sunset and great food. And for the best hot chocolate (in the world, IMHO) go to Angelina's and order the Chocolate Chaud Africain. It is to die for. Flagship store is on Rue de Rivoli near the Louvre, but there is also an Angelina's inside the Louvre, Palace of Versailles, and Galeries Lafayette department store in the Opera district.
We appreciated having a dishwasher and a washer and dryer (two separate appliances) which worked extremely well. The apartment was exactly what we hoped for and more.
This was our second visit to lovely "Juliette" and just as amazing as our first visit...Juliette's charm and magic was felt once again as soon as we opened the door. " Ici et la" ....the little sign reads beside the door. Everything that one could possibly dream has been thought of here...and more. Our sleeps were so peaceful, as could be imagined in the ancient thick silent walls. Our beds so comfortable. The beautiful Napoleon bathtub just had to be indulged ....filled each night and candle sconces lit...even the glorious fig & lavender bath gel was there, and in each bathroom. Yes, Juliette is so magical...whether you are a romantic couple, small family, or girls getaway....the layout is absolutely authentic & perfect, glorious small, efficient kitchen ...every square inch is planned so well. Amazingly....designed by the same set director for "Jean de Floret"....how could you not just be in love with Juliette! My french fairy tale!
My adult son and I, and 3 teenage grandchildren, spent the week after Easter in Paris, and stayed at "Juliette". What a perfect place for a family! My son had a large bed (he's 6' 3''); the 15 yr. old boy was thrilled with his hidey-hole bed under the staircase, and the 2 younger girls were happy upstairs in a large bed with their own bathroom. And grandma ---- very content in the daybed that became a comfortable place to sleep at night. There was plenty of room for the five of us.
The apartment was exactly as we imagined it would be ---- the vintage appearance of the decor is charming and definitely made us realize that we really were in Paris --- a first visit for most of the family. The location in a historic building, the layout and furnishings were all as described and expected. All was clean and in good repair. The Ile St. Louis area is so convenient for walking or for a metro ride to all of the sights. There are many restaurants nearby as well as pastry shops, groceries (including fresh squeezed OJ!) and shopping for anything you want or need.
After a day of sight-seeing, we were all content to come back to our own "home" to relax. With access to wi-fi, TV, books, refrigerator. dishes and dishwasher, washer and dryer it was much better than a hotel. Although we didn't do any cooking, the state-of-the-art stove was a temptation.
David, the owner's American manager, met us promptly and showed us the apartment and gave us much useful information on the area. He arranged transportation to and from the airport and made certain that we could reach him anytime he was needed. We really appreciated his input and his accessibility.
The Café Regis is open early and has fantastic eggs benedict for the American male who misses a huge breakfast!. Most of the time, we brought home croissants and other pastries from one of the nearby patisseries -- -- a huge treat not only for the kids! My son and I enjoyed the convenience of the coffee from the Nespresso coffemaker.
This property is highly recommended, especially for a family, a couple, or for a girlfriends' get-away in Paris. My family and I are certain to return here on our next Paris visit. With 17 grandchildren, it is certain to be soon.
My partner and I spent first two weeks of February at Juliette. It was nearly ideal in every way. The location for both right and left banks is perfect. On Isle services are excellent, for eating in or out. The apt is just as described, compact, open, charming, quirky, very well appointed with excellent linens, top end appliances, and a superbly equipped kitchen. Our adult son was along for one week, Juliette easily accommodates 3, good storage, thoughtful layout. We ate in as well, and complete living was easy. Return in a heartbeat!

“Juliette”, ah “Juliette”
Our ninth time to Paris with our two grown girls and this first time with our 16 year old granddaughter. And this trip we found Perfect Paris’ “Juliette” on rue des Duex Points, in the village of Ile Saint Louis! A perfect location! A perfect apartment for us! Just steps from the wonderful shops of Rue Saint-Louise en Ile with the most pastry shop (fresh croissants every morning!!) and Paris’ famous ice cream shop, Berthillon, just 150 feet away! Notre Dame and Ile de Cite just up the block!
Juliette was beyond our expectations. It is just beautiful! With its high beamed ceilings, its historic elegance, its lovely furniture, its comfortable living room, it’s fully equip kitchen, it’s unique sleeping accommodations. Comfortable!! The first floor bathroom – a work of art! We walked in the door of the apartment and just said “Wow!” And it fit us! A family of 5 – one couple, a mother and daughter, and another daughter. Perfect! Two bathrooms (and lovely bathrooms at that!). Very comfortable bedding!
Now, Perfect Paris provided a spotless clean apartment in truly immaculate condition! Everything worked! Michelle provided pre-stay information about the apartment, notes about the neighborhood and invaluable information about Paris. Travel books, a computer, wifi, and even Europe converter plugs. The property manager met us at the door and he was on call should we have a problem - we had none!
A wonderful stay. A truly magical experience. We loved Paris and we adored “Juliette!” We will return!
Thank you, Michelle!
Wow! I feel robbed. This apt is rickety in a poor state of disrepair. The manager let us stand in the pouring rain upon arrival- he'd sent someone else to let us in. When we got upstairs, honestly, I wanted to cry. We had invited friends for a bit and our grown son and his girlfriend for a bit. There is no door! The 1st "bedroom" is part of the entry walkway. And the "2nd bedroom" is a loft whose bedroom has 5" ceiling and the bathroom has a 4 foot high doorway! No door of course. The furniture is shabby. No drawers in 1st "bedroom" basically, just go elsewhere unless the price comes down to something closer to what it's worth which is about 225 euros per night. Disgraceful rip off.
