"Best Vacation Ever!" Is what our kids agreed was the case after we spent an awesome week at the Moore House on Lake Lure. This was our first venture into using VRBO for a family vacation and at this point the bar has been set extremely high. While the pictures are great and all of the reviews have 5 stars, you really have to see the place in person to appreciate the true beauty of the home and its surroundings. The house and furnishings are gorgeous, period. The outdoor seating areas are simply amazing and the views from every vantage point are breathtaking and soothing all at the same time. We spent most of our time outdoors, even using the outdoor fire place to do s'mores one evening (and yes, the kitchen even has those metal prong things for melting your marshmallows in the fire). We really enjoyed taking the pontoon boat out on the lake and used it to dock at one of the local joints for afternoon burgers. John Moore was very welcoming and made sure that we felt right at home. He assured us that he was as close as his phone, although we never needed a thing. It was a perfect family vacation for our family of 8 and we very much look forward to returning.
