We absolutely love our home in the mountains! We live in Florida but travel to the cabin at least once every 2-3 months. We have decorated in the cabin style which is comfortable and relaxing and hope that those who stay in our home will enjoy it as much as we do. With so much to do in the area or the choice to do nothing but listen to the birds sing and watch the ever changing view, we hope each visit to Red Dog Cabin is just as you have envisioned! Enjoy!
We choose this home for 2 reason: no road noise and a beautiful Western view of the Mountains!
My husband and I own this small piece of paradise in the Smokey Mountains. It's quiet and peaceful. We don't there often enough but are very thankful that we can share this place with new friends from all over the country.
My family and my parents enjoyed staying in Murphy. The chalet was just as described and perfect for our three night stay. My daughters loved playing on the bunk beds, watching the birds and squirrels, and the bears and dogs on the decor! The fireplace was a welcoming spot for our dog. My husband and I ate at Doyle's and loved it! We only wished we'd planned to stay another night! Thank you Claudia for your help and recommendations!
Having stayed in Murphy many times before at a different location, I was hesitant to try a different property this year. I could not have been more happy with this decision. The property is very well maintained and has all of the amenities you could need. It provides great views from the deck for kicking your feet up and watching the sun set, or going out at night and trying to catch a shooting star or two. It's location in town is far enough away to keep things quiet, yet close enough to get to the local grocery store or walmart within 10-15 minutes. Whether you're into driving/riding some of the best roads in the country, hiking, whitewater rafting, ziplining, cavern and waterfall hikes/tours, boating, off roading, fishing, etc., this area has it all within an hour or two. The owners could not be more helpful and willing to answer/assist with any question that you may have, and the property is priced very reasonably. Thank you again, Claudia.
My wife, two teenage daughters, dogie, and myself had the ultimate family time! Claudia's "Oasis in the Mountains" was just what my family needed to have a vacation to remember through our lifetime. She thought of everything from a fully stocked kitchen, plush towels, relaxing chairs on the deck facing a to die for sun setting mountain view, to a cute little bear holding my toilet paper. My wifey pooh loved going into such a tidy and clean retreat. We had all (doggie too!) hiked up to the top of the mountain to have an incredible view that took my breath away! (Oh, that was my wife hugging me so tight because she was so happy!) Boy what a vacation we had! We had fantastic stuffed pizza from Mamma Mia's, froze our toes in the Nantahala River, shopped in Cherokee, picnicked in the Smokie Mountain National Park by a babbling creek, caught fireflies at twighlight by the cabin, hiked up Waterrock Knob after driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, trekked down to North Shoal Creek Falls, zip lined on the Ocoee Zipz, white water raft down the Nantahala, ate a delicious dinner at Shoebootie's, and much more... Thank you Claudia for sharing your home and being so gracious. We weren't ready to leave our little piece of heaven...
I must write this review even though I do not want to share this beautiful mountain hideaway. The entire experience was wonderful. The house was immaculate and very well furnished. I can only say it really deserves the 5 stars. It is also nice to have a host who really cares about your visit. Claudia was great. We shall return.

We had a good time. Nice location and close to town. Very quite and enjoyable.
Wonderful chalet!! The home was impeccably maintained and many extras available for renters use! The evening sunsets were priceless and the walk down to the main road each morning was a great way to get the heartrate going!! Great location to visit the many beautiful natural settings in and around Murphy! River Walk and Shoebooties in Murphy are MUSTS! Nice neighbors also - except for the two dogs that were loose and scared the pooooo out of me and my small dog!
Many thanks to the owners!!
Our home is close to the Nantahala River for White Water Rafting and also the Ocoee River, home of the 1996 Olympic White Water games. Hiawassee Lake is part of the TVA system and offers Boating and Fishing. You can rent a boat at Duke's Marina for a day of fun on the water! Hiking is available many places and the Appalachian Trail is nearby. Motorcycles find our twisting and turning roads and great scenery to be some of the best in the East. We are 2 hours from Atlanta and 2 hours from Asheville. OR just an hour and a half from Chattanooga TN.
