Photos and Description of the Newland vacation cabin rental Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 10-13)

Escape the city and experience God's country Enjoy a rustic 'Pioneer Homeplace' experience. This unique cabin is over 100 years old and offers plenty of privacy, nature, and seclusion. Cabin sleeps 10 - 12 easily. It has 1 queen bed, 2 double beds and 4 twin beds. One full bathroom and a half bath. There are 4 bedrooms total and three single couches for additional sleeping space. Linens are provided and included in the rental package. All kitchen utensils and appliances are also provided and included in the rental package. There is a front and side porch for relaxing to the sounds of the stream/waterfall down in the front. The cabin has a tin roof that's great for listening to the rain. For complete solitude ~ there are no TVs, DVDs or VCRs in the cabin. There is a telephone in the cabin; however, it will only dial 911 for emergencies. We offer a bond fire pit out front and a BBQ pit for roasting pigs for an additional charge.

Our Cabin is located within 15-20 minutes of Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, Linville Gorge, Banner Elk Township, Hawksnest Ski Resort in Seven Devils, Jonas Ridge Snowtubing, Steel Creek Campground, Lees McRae College, YMCA, Cannon Memorial Hospital, Public Library, Schools, Lowes Foods, Ingles Grocery Store, Dollar General, Civial War Trail, Historical Landmarks, Elk River Falls, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are 30 minutes to Spruce Pine, Watauga Lake, Boone, ASU, Tweetsie Railroad Themepark, Blowing Rock, Tanger Outlet Malls in Blowing Rock, Appalachain Ski, Morganton, Elizabethton, TN, and Roan Mountain State Park TN. We are one hour away from Johnson City Medical Center, ETSU, Bristol Motor Speedway, Asheville, NC, the Biltmore House and Tri-Cities Regional Airport. Charlotte International is only 2 and a half hours away.

Additional fees for firewood for nightly rentals only $50.00. Firewood for the fireplace is included in Weekly rentals only. Additional fee of $50 -$100 for use of Bon Fire Amenity per night for firewood and/or Charcoal for the Pig Roasting Pit per day (these amenities are optional). There is a minimum age requirement to rent the cabin. No one under the age of 21 may be the responsible paying party making the reservations. Additional charges may apply per number of guests.

    The owners reserve the right to refuse rental to any party we deem not responsible regardless of age.
  • Payments may be made via personal check made payable to Nancy Thomason, cashiers check, money orders, cash, mastercard and visa through Paypal. A security deposit and full payment is required prior to arrival. Security deposits will be refunded 14 days following departure provided there are no damages. An additional cleaning fee is required upon arrival.

    All cancellations must be done two weeks prior to arrival in order to receive your money back. There will be a nonrefundable $75 cancellation fee charged.

  • For large parties that require more than one full bathroom additional accommodations may be available at the Owners home just a few short feet away from the cabin. Of course prior approval will be required by the owners for use of these facilities please check with the rental agent when booking your reservations about any concerns you may have.

  • There is enough beds to sleep 12 people, however, there one long couch upstairs that sleeps one comfortably as well as enough floor space to place 3 full size air mattresses. Plus two love seat sofas in the den area that sleeps small children comfortably also. We have had a total of 21 people to sleep in the cabin during family reunions. All Linens and blankets are provided for all beds. The owners do have extra bedding available for making beds on the couches and floors as well.

Notes: We offer a bon fire pit out front and a BBQ pit for roasting pigs. An additional charge will be added for the use of these amenities depending on the number of guests. Please indicate upon reservations that you would like to utilize these options. The cabin is heated w/ electric baseboard heat, an oil monitor, as well as a soap stone wood burning fireplace. The cabin is air conditioned by nature in the summer time, however for an additional charge a window a/c unit will be provided for the upstairs bedroom. Unless we hit record high temps in the summer, fans and windows are sufficient for cooling. For nightly rentals an additional one time fee of $50.00 will be charged for firewood, on weekly rentals firewood is included in the fee. Pets are welcomed for an additional fee of $50.00 per pet if not house broken with owners approval prior to reserving the cabin. Families are welcomed and encouraged. However, there is a minimum age (21) requirement to rent the cabin.

Entertainment: The cabin has an electric organ in the den for the musically inclined. We also have many adult and childrens games already in the cabin such as Uno, Trivial Pursuit, Chechers, Dominoes, Darts, Monopoly, Sorry, Fact or Crap, Bunko, Cards, Poker set, and Candy Land.

Ski: We are located within 15 minutes to three popular ski slopes & resorts. Beech Mountain Ski Slope, Sugar Mountain Ski Slope and Hawksnest Ski Slope. Jonas Ridge snowtubing is just a short 15 minute drive as well.

Golf: Public Golf Course within 10 minutes of cabin. Mountain Glen Golf Course. Open April to October.

Other Activities: snow tubing, snow boarding, hiking, horseback riding, Grandfather Mountain
