Trastevere area Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Enjoy the charm of an authentic Rome apartment!

Located right in the very center of Rome, in a tranquil cobblestone alley of the historic Trastevere area, this newly renovated and refurbished apartment combines the classic Roman charm of exposed original beams with the comfort and style of modern furnishings. This is an ideal holiday home to experience a great stay in the eternal city!

The area surrounding the apartment: The luxury suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, the picturesque medieval area located on the west bank of the Tiber. Part of the historical centre of Rome, Trastevere is the perfect place to glimpse a bit of the old world while still enjoying the lifestyle of today's Romans. From the cobblestone streets to the overhanging laundry lines, senses are pleasantly awakened with every step you take in this bohemian neighborhood.

Vicolo della Torre, where is located the apartment, represents everything mentioned above. It is the most photographed alley of Trastevere and you will feel very proud to have been chosen so popular and central location.

Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is an ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter and the Vatican city are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights, in no time at all (15 to 30 minutes walks). If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the electric buses of Rome.

A few blocks from the apartment, you can find the outdoor market of Piazza San Cosimato, where tented booths display a bountiful array of tantalizing fruits and vegetables, or the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit.

The area becomes very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and dozens of quality restaurants and pizzerias, where you can taste great Italian food at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for a very special accommodation, with all the charm and soul of old Rome yet with all the comfort and convenience of modern amenities, then the Trilussa apartment will surely delight you. Trilussa is the name of a famous Roman poet.

The apartment:

This charming apartment is located on the ground floor of a typical house of 1800 and enjoys a private entrance in additional to the secluded location that makes it not so noisy in a lively neighborhoods. This will allow you to sleep at night, advantage that few holiday rentals can offer in this particular place of Trastevere.

The house is a confortable little suite, very modern and all renovated, pecfect for a couple or 3 persons of the same family. there is a bed room with a king size bed and a living room with a sofa bed, very well equiped with Tv with a satelite to enjoy your programs all over the world, and wireless internet free.

The luxury suite has just come out of a full renovation (February 2013) and represents a quintessential Trastevere apartment. The rustic tile floor and the original ceiling beams bring a delightful sense of Roman history, harmoniously matched by the contemporary colors and elegant furnishings. Guests will feel completely at ease from the moment they walk in, thanks to the captivating and warm atmosphere. The living-dining area of this apartment is welcoming and inviting the guests to relax after trekking around Rome historical centre. In this area you can find a double leather sofa bed suitable for the 3rd guest, one single leather sofa, a coffee table and a plasma TV. The open kitchen is fully equipped with everything guests may need for daily living and it features a countertop and two stools to enjoy a breakfast or a dinner.

About Romula Giannotti

My name is Romula and with my husband Claudio we are 32 year owners of a travel agency which is located near the Vatican. That job keeps us continually in contact with people for whom we organize travels all over the world. We are fluent in three languages: Italian, French and English, so we can also help you with all of your travel throughout Italy . You can ask our opinion on your stay in Rome or on your trip in Italy, how to divide the days into the differents cities, how to join the different places, how to decide if it is better to go by car or by train, or any other question !!! We just want 2 things :

1) to rent our 2 houses in Rome, the second one is located in the same lane Vicolo della Torre 12, you can visit the site www.homeaway.com/3571450

2) that you enjoy your stay in Rome and your trip in Italy !!! Dont hesitate to contact us !!!!

Romula Giannotti purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Romula Giannotti chose Trastevere area

To deversify the tourism activity in a lovely city like Rome, I decided to invest in this new tourism concept of vacation rental, trying to give the best of hospitality to our guests for a unforgetable holiday in the heart of the 'Eternel City' Trastevere !

I meet all my guests upon arrival to give them all the explications that they need to enjoy their stay, I offer them my avaibility for each kind of request as buy train tickets, leave their luggage in a little deposit to enjoy their last day, organize private cooking lessons, private day trips, transfers from and to the airport or the port of Civitavecchia where cruises depart for the Mediterranean, any service that can facilitate their stay in Rome.

What makes this apartment unique

The suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and quality restaurants frequented by Italians too. It is a typical house of the 1800, all renovated inside, located in the most beautifull alley of Trastevere, constantly photographed for its uniqueness. The bedroom is overlooking the courtyard of San Gallicano hospital, today a historical monument, so my guests can sleep very well without being disturbed by noise that lasts all night in this very special neighbourhour of Rome, especially in summer.

An other benefit is that I have 2 houses in the same lane Vicolo della Torre (www.homeaway.com/228988 and www.homeaway.com/3571450) where 2 couples of friends travelling together can stay in their complete independence while being together.

Perfect place to stay while in Rome

  • 5 of 5

If you would like to feel like you are living in Rome for a few days, rent this apartment. This area Trasteverde is a great neighborhood with tons of restaurants within seconds of the apartment. Our daughter is studying in Rome this semester so we came for a week to visit.

The apartment was very clean and much bigger than if we were in a hotel room. It is perfect for two people although our daughter spent one night with us on the sofa bed. The bathroom is a little small but that is the case with most bathrooms in Rome. It is in walking distance of many sites with taxis and trains close by.

The owner Romula and her husband were so nice and very helpful. she arranged to have a driver take us to the airport.

We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Oasis of Calm

  • 5 of 5

Our first communication with Romula was a great indication of the level of service you will receive - quick, polite and accurate. This was our third stay in Rome, our second in Trastevere. The apartment is exactly as described, if not even better. There was everything supplied to make the stay perfect and very comfortable. Romula and her husband met us at the apartment and gave us a great orienttion to the apartment and area along with many recommendations for restaurants. Despite the area being very busy, the apartment was very quiet and we had four very comfortable nights with a great sleep! The apartment was very clean with nice touches such as bathrobes, coffee, spices, olive oil, etc. I would not hesitate telling my friends and relatives to stay here. Everything you want to see is within walking distance; we never used a taxi or bus once. We walked to the Forum, Borghese, Vatican and so on. Great place; thank you Romula. Little Gem in the heart of Trastevere

  • 5 of 5

We chose to stay in this property because it had received excellent reviews and it didn't disappoint! It is located in a beautiful little street in the heart of buzzing Trastevere. Despite its central location, it was very quiet which was important for us as we needed good sleep due to running the Rome marathon.

We mostly chose to cater for ourselves. The kitchen is small, but the hob was adequate for our needs. There are also many restaurants nearby if you'd prefer. The apartment was clean and very comfortable, just perfect for two people.

The location of the property was also perfect. It didn't take long to get to the centre of Rome or the Vatican from there. It was also easy to get there from Rome Fiumicino airport.

Romula and her husband were very helpful and really took the time to settle us into the apartment, showing us the wifi code, how to work the satellite TV, the coffee machine, heating etc and they then left us to get on with enjoying our stay.

I have already recommended this apartment to my friends and family and would stay again if and when I next return to Rome.

Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Rome!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice, cozy apartment in a great location. Trastevere is the place to stay in Rome if you want to live like a Roman, yet still be very close to the center of the city. You can walk to any major site in Rome from this apartment. We stayed for 2 weeks and did not take public transportation (which is easily available if you need it) once, other than to go for our 2 day trips outside the city. Even the Vatican is within walking distance. Romula is a wonderful host, who will make your stay very pleasant. The apartment has everything you need, including very fast wifi, satellite TV, and a very nice kitchen with all the amenities. There are lots of great places to eat in Trastevere. A couple of our personal favorites were Roma Sparita (with the best Cacio e Pepe in Rome) and Dar Poeta (best pizza I've ever had). Overall, this apartment is a wonderful place to stay - very quite despite being in a great central location, located on a beautiful small street that is constantly being photographed, and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Fun place to stay while in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We chose this apartment because of the reviews and the location for a two week stay in Rome. We had a wonderful time while in this apartment in Trastevere. Romula greeted us upon our arrival and took time to show us how everything worked: The television, the internet, the heat, appliances, etc. Everything is modern and works well. There is no washer or dryer but there was a cleaning person after the first week and fresh sheets and towels were provided. The street the apartment is on is quiet and charming. It is a picture for a postcard! There are many wonderful restaurants all over Trastevere that are fun and reasonable. Most of our favorite restaurants were in this area of Rome! We used the kitchen for breakfast and ate out our other meals. There was a grocery store near by for whatever was needed. We also took a very fun cooking class that is two blocks away that was wonderful. You can look it up: "Cooking Classes in Rome". The bathroom is new and the shower works well. The bed is comfortable. There is a closet for hanging things and a dresser for other clothes. The apartment is very clean and well kept.

Romula couldn't have been nicer. She offered to help with plans while in Rome but we were pretty self sufficient. She did arrange a car to pick us up from the airport and the train to Florence when we left. It was extremely helpful. The only negative I would say is that the apartment is a little dark because it is on the ground floor. But we were out and about all day so that did not affect our opinion of how nice this spot it is for a stay in Rome. Romula and her husband are very nice, honest and helpful. It is a very good value for your money and we highly recommend this charming and special apartment. It is perfect for a couple.
