I come from a family of animal lovers. I am certified in a spay/neuter program and care for the health of stray cats in my neighborhood. I also love nature, flowers and trees.
When you come here this is not just a place you sleep but feel like a home away from home. This place is a labor of love.
This brownstone was built in the 1920's. A lot of the wood work is original. The doors, the stairs, it is a rare jewel in New York City.
Stayed 3 nights in this wonderful studio in Harlem. Studio was warm, inviting, clean and Yvette was so friendly and helpful. I don't think you will find a better place for your $! Check out Lido (great Italian restaurant), Lolo's Seafood Shack, Serengeti Tea around the corner - try the Love Chai -really enjoyed discovering Harlem. To get to downtown for a show or exploring times square - 2 blocks to metro station with an express train - only 10 minutes
My husband and visited NYC for our anniversary in December. The city was amazing and exciting. Each day was made better by coming home to this wonderful apartment. The apartment is only a couple of blocks from the train station making getting around the city very easy. There was free coffee and tea in the room. The bed was comfortable, and the unit was clean. Yvette was very friendly and had suggestions for things to do. I always looked forward to catching up with her if we saw her at the end of our day. We will gladly stay here when return to NYC. The area was safe and quiet. I would recommend this unit to anyone traveling to NYC!
The B&B is easy to find around five minutes to walk from the 125th subway stop which allowed us to get to Times Square in 10 minutes with an express train! We had a single room appartment with even a small kitchen and a bathroom. It was all very clean when we arrived. Yvette was very welcoming and friendly. We felt very much at home from the beginning. All in all I would definitely recommend to stay at La Sienna to everyone who wants to visit NYC and does not have a very big budget or wants to spend more money on sights and shopping than on an overexpensive hotel room.
I came across La Sienna on homeaway.com 5 years ago and have never gone anywhere else since. My original plans had been to stay in every neighbourhood on Manhattan until I'd seen them all but in La Sienna, I found my home away from home.
Yvette, the owner and resident jack of all trades, is an amazing host.
This is a safe, quiet, spotlessly-clean, affordable place to stay. I travel by myself and come to New York at least once a year and I have never hesitated to recommend La Sienna to anyone that is planning a visit to New York.
I came across La Sienna on homeaway.com 5 years ago and even though I had previously planned to stay in a different neighbourhood on Manhattan
It was the second time we stayed at La Sienna, and we were very happy to be back. It is not that easy to find something with great value for an acceptable price in NYC. La Sienna is just that! It's cozy, clean, calm and Yvette is a warm and helpful host. La Sienna is close to several subway stations: it's easy to get anywhere in the city. Harlem is a great place to stay as well. In short: I'd recommend La Sienna to anyone looking for an affordable, warm and safe stay in NYC.
