Two-story, lakefront chalet located on beautiful Rose Lake.
Barbecue on the deck while watching the children play on sandy bottom beach. Just a short canoe to wildlife area where eagle, loons, turtles, deer, and otter are commonly seen. All sports lake with a public launch on opposite side of lake. Golfers have a wide variety of choices including one of the most scenic courses in the state just across the lake. Play horseshoes, relax in a hammock, sing around the campfire, or just lay in the sun.
We love this place...you will too!

We have lived in the Detroit area all our lives and have always loved vacationing in Northern Michigan. Since 1975 we have owned property in Rose Lake Forest, a wooded subdivision with Rose Lake beach access. Our four children and later, six grandchildren have enjoyed the lake and forest in summer and winter. We have had many wonderful times over the years with family and friends at Rose Lake. Then in 2006, we discovered the Rose Lake Chalet and became the happy owners!
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2006
After many years of enjoying our place in the forest near Rose Lake, we decided it was time to have our own lake front vacation spot. The chalet is our own bit of 'paradise', right on the water and nestled among tall pine trees.
The chalet is a place of quiet and rest, and yet a place that offers opportunities for exploration and sight seeing in Northern Michigan. The clear, fresh water invites both swimmers and fishermen. From the Chalet, it is convenient to take day trips to many well known areas in Michigan, such as Macinac Is., and Sleeping Bear Dunes.
We had a great week at your cottage. We found everything we needed and were very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the great fishing and swimming. My mom caught an 18" bass the first day! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.
We had a wonderful time staying in this chalet for vacation. The house had all the amenities we needed. We really enjoyed the rowboat and canoe for use at any time - we used them almost every day. The owners took us out on their pontoon boat for a tour around the lake -what a treat! The area was very quiet, not too many rentals, so there wasn't much activity during the day. You practically had the lake to yourself! While there are not a ton of activities in the immediate vicinity, it is not very far from places like Traverse City, which made for a nice excursion. We also went to the local dairy farm (as recommended by the chalet owners), where all the milking is done by robots! Pretty neat, and the farm owner was very nice and knowledgeable. We would definitely consider it for a return trip!
With 2 pre-school grandchildren, the Chalet was a perfect fit. Catching bluegills, boat rides, listening to the loons and 2 bathrooms!. We had a nice week of just enjoying the lake. It has most everything one needs to be comfortable. Hope to come again!
What a nice and clean place. We did lots of boating and swimming. The Lake is awesome. I also enjoyed just sitting on the awesome deck looking out at the water and relaxing. I wished I could bottle it and take it home. LOL. We will for sure be back next year. Even the neighbors were great. And the owners are just the very BEST. We got a chance to meet them when we arrived. Can't say enough great things about the Chalet and Rose Lake. GO DETROIT TIGERS!!!!!!
Not only was the chalet situated on a beautiful lake, but we spent hours just bird watching. The owners had thoughtfully furnished a bird book and we could identify many different species. Our children came up to visit on Sunday and they enjoyed fishing and sitting by the fire pit. On Tuesday our grandchildren came to stay for 3 days. They'll have wonderful memories of learning how to row a boat, and paddle a canoe. The beach is sandy, the fishing is good, the chalet is fabulous and we'll be back next year.
The cottage was just as we had expected. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need for cooking and grilling. The water was super clean and very sandy for little ones to play in. We will defiantly consider renting this place again.
Great place to stay, beautiful deck, beautiful lake, excellent swimming for our 10 year old twin girls. They jumped off the dock a million times and loved it. We used the canoe, row boat and sail boat. Renting from the owners was a breeze. They were available if we had any questions and made sure we new where everything was in and outside of the cottage. We stayed 7/14/12 - 7/21/12 and loved it!
