SKYTOP COTTAGE WITH RESORT AMENITIES

We were part of a two family trip to this lovely cottage on the grounds of the exclusive Skytop lodge. We chose Skytop because it is within 2 hours of NYC, and between our two families there are three teenagers who needed more than sitting at a lake, reading a book. The cottage is on the 15 tee of Skytop's golf course and because it borders the Lodge's property, we were able to use all of the facilities (swimming lake, boating lake, pools, game room, archery, tennis, crocquet, hiking trails, spa, driving range, golf course, Orvis trap shooting,restaurants, etc).We did bring bikes (recommended), fishing rods, and beach chairs and used them all. We had plenty to do throughout the week, with enough activities to keep everyone happy.
The house itself was perfect. It is clearly used for private ownership with everything being of the highest quality. The kitchen is small but perfectly outfitted with everything that we needed (even a lemon squeezer for the peck of lemons I brought!) Each bedroom was beautifully laid out, and had reading lights on both sides of the beds (being a reader, this is a big deal!). There are 4 bathrooms which completely worked with 7 people in the house. And best of all, the enclosed porch looks out onto the back yard and golf course. It was really perfect.
Although we are not golfers, we had a wonderful time, as there's so much to do. I would highly recommend this house for anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of Sktyop lodge (and the Poconos) but not pay the expensive daily rates. It's a really lovely home.
