My family (wife, son (23), daughter and her friend (10 and 11) and I spent Memorial Day weekend at this lakefront home. We brought our boat along and launched it daily at a closeby public ramp conveniently located next to a gas station/convenience store. Most of the day was spent on the water in the boat tubing and swimming. The kids also enjoyed swimming right behind the house as well as catching bluegills and shellcracker right off the bank. The large yard provided ample space for the girls to run around. Nights were spent around a small fire in the firepit. This trip was exactly what we were looking for...getting off the grid and relaxing. The girls did not complain once about not being able to "log on" to a computer, a rare feat in this day and age! Miss Margaret was a pleasure to meet and went out of the way to ensure we were taken care of. The pictures of the property on this site are accurate, but don't do justice to actually seeing the views in person. What a great weekend!
Four members of our family just spent a 3 day outing on Lake Moultrie at Margaret's home on the lake, and it was just wonderful. The house of cute as a button inside, and the property has a large beautiful yard. As soon as we walked in, we fell in love with the place, ooh-ing and ah-ing at each of the rooms and commenting about how much time was spent decorating them. We truly wish we could have stayed longer than we did. The house pictures that the owner has posted on her site were exactly as seen, but even more charming in person. Everything was clean and tidy and had just about everything you could want. It was a terrific getaway.
I rented this lovely lake house to have a place for my family to gather to celebrate my Mom's 88th birthday. The house is charming, with so many thoughtful "extra's" like having coffee and filters so that we could have a pot of coffee before we went and stocked up on supplies. We all enjoyed the coziness and comfortable furnishings. We spent many happy hours on the porch overlooking the lake. The ceiling fans and central air were heavenly. The owner of this property is a delight and I would highly recommend this as a wonderful get-away for a romantic time for a couple or for a special family celebration. Thank you.
My husband and I and our 4 legged baby stayed at this cottage Memorial Weekend and it was wonderful - the photos on the website are good, but don't do the home justice - it is very comfortable and extremely welcoming.
The cottage is spacious, comfortable and very clean - the kitchen had all we needed for the cooking we did.
We barely turned the TV on, preferring to spend our time sitting out on the wonderful screened in porch, or out in the back yard by the lake. The yard is large and completely fenced which was great for our dog as we could let her run around without having to keep her leashed - she loved lying out back watching the squirrels and birds! and as the cottage is located in a very quiet area, it allowed us to walk her every day with no fear of crazy drivers!
There is plenty of room for for a boat and trailer in the front yard (two double gates at the front of the cottage which allowed our boat and trailer to be driven through - nice and easy) and the cottage is in close proximity to a couple of boat ramps, so we took the boat out a few times.
The owner is extremely easy to work with, and is very helpful and quick to respond to questions.
We have no doubts at all in recommending this cottage, and were hoping to return for Labor Day, but plans changed, so we are hoping to visit again in November.
We stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage is nicely stocked, clean, the owner is quite friendly, and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. It was quite relaxing and we look forward to staying here again. Also, there is a very nice lakefront view!!!
Our vacation of two weeks was great due to this nice home. The inside was very clean, beds slept as good as our's at home, A/C worked very good, it has Direct Net work T/V, and a very nice porch looking over the lake. Also in the area were nice places to eat, Evelyn's restaurant was the best place for breakfast each morning. The owner (Mrs Margart Wade) was very nice and accommodating.
