Great location and very comfortable, spacious apartment

We just returned from a very nice 6 day, 5 night stay in October, 2012 at this spacious apartment. It is ideally located very close to all the major attractions around the Champs Elysees, immediately adjacent to beautiful Avenue Montaigne, close proximity to Avenue George V, and Champs Elysees itself. We were within 10 minute walks to 3 Michelin 3 star restaurants, the Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Rue St. Honore du Faubourg for shopping, 20 minute walk across the Left Bank to the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, and about 40 minute walk to the Lourve. We love to walk, which is really the best way to see Paris. For this purpose, we think this is the very best thing about the apartment. It is also just a half block from Metro Line 1. When we arrived in Paris at the Gard du Nord train station, it was raining and the taxi line was 2-3 hours, so with Gabriella's excellent instructions, we took the RER to Chatalet, changed to the Metro Line 1 and got off the Franklin D. Roosevelt stop, and walked only half a block to get to the apartment, which only took 30-40 minutes, and we had never even done this before! Now that was an "interesting" Parisien experience - not sure we want to do that again, but we were thankful to have that option given the challenging weather at that time - good luck getting a cab when it is raining!
The apartment is not one of luxury, but it is very nice and comfortable, more of a home away from home and has all the amenities required for an excellent 5 night stay - with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc. Bed is a full-size bed, and seems a bit smaller and not quite as firm as what we are accustomed to in the US, but this is standard in Europe, and more an individual taste. It is very close to a big supermarket, Monoprix, across the Champs Elysees, where we stocked up water, juice, fruit, etc. The apartment is very quiet, which is nice to be protected from the bustling noise of Paris streets. The Wifi worked great, once we figured out which network it was, which was not obvious, and free long distance calls were included.
The apartment is on the top (4th) floor. The elevator lift takes you to the 3rd floor, so you have to walk up one short flight of stairs, where there is limited lighting so it gets dark on that flight of stairs in the evening.
Gabriella was an excellent hostess - very accomodating, and very responsive. We would try to stay here again when we return to Paris for a visit.
Thank you, Gabriella, for having us!
