Full luxury in breathtaking natural beauty. Remote and private. So quiet you can hear your heart beat. At night, no city lights disturb your view of the star-studded sky. From this 1300 square foot casita, you'll enjoy panoramic 180-degree views: Abiquiu Lake, miles of mesas, rolling hills, and the magnificent red cliffs surrounding the famous Ghost Ranch. To the south you'll see the 10,000-foot mountain known as El Pedernal, which Georgia O'Keefe made famous in her paintings, along with much of the near landscape. This is a brand new casita, designed by a local architect in a southwestern modern style. It's fully furnished for comfort. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, including a Bosch gas stove with heavy gauge grills for those who really love to cook. Look at the bathroom: you can choose between a slate shower or a deep soaking tub to soothe your body after an invigorating hike in the nearby Jemez Mountains.

This home is just as fabulous as depicted in the photos. If you love the high desert, stunning vistas and solitude - book now. All you'll need is food, as the owner has furnished everything else in this beautifully furnished, uniquely designed home. No phone or TV which just makes it all the better!

My only regret about booking this property is that rather than 2 nights we should have at least stayed for a week! This is one spectacular casita with all amenities, top appliances, beautiful design and decor. But best of all the views!!!!! And we have never "heard" such silence! Breathtaking location but make sure you bring food as there's no store in sight!

Needing a short getaway to complete a writing project I discovered this wonderful casita on VRBO. Being an enthusiast of both nature and contemporary architecture this casita was the ideal blend of both for me. Spacious for a small house, private without window coverings, and totally serene I didn't get anything done on my project, nor did I care. The casita is well equipped (loved the lack of a television but could've used a microwave...) and is set high above Lake Abiquiu yet close to lake access. I felt far away from Santa Fe yet was only an hour out so no wasted driving time to achieve an escape (as if an escape from Santa Fe is ever really necessary!) Please rent this casita in joyful confidence and, hopefully, for longer than the two days I had.
Owner's Response: This is a brand new casita-- we are putting in a microwave.
