This is an original Pratt house built in 1866 by the famed architect Pratt for whom the Pratt Institute in New York was named. It is located in the historic district across from a large park in which baseball, golf practice, kite flying, bike riding, picnics and even, on at least one occasion, horseback riding was practiced. The house has a water view which includes and is only steps from the famous Inkwell Beach. On a clear day, as most are in this location, you can see from the large porch, the beaches and down the coast all the way to Edgartown. It is also just a short walk to town and its many shops, family concerts, restaurants, festivals, art galleries, antique shops, the carousel, the arcade, as well as to the Oak Bluffs ferry. It is a shorter walk to the basketball and tennis courts.
