Located outside of the town ramparts, second house on Chemin St. Claire. Incredible

views, large non-chlorinated swimming pool, terraced gardens, sculptures by Lalande, Romeda, Ben and other known artists adorn the grounds. Private parking area in front of the property for 2 cars. 3 minute walk to the Colombe d'Or, 5 miinute walk to the village of St. Paul de Vence and an easy 15 minute drive to and from the Nice airport.

The home was constructed in 1920 and includes many original furnishings and artwork.

Also available is an apartment anex for hired help and a secluded home office

with internet and fax.

All points of interest in the Cote d'Azure an easy drive from the Villa

SAINT PAUL DE VENCE: la Colomb d'Or, one of the most famous restaurants in France is located next to the home we highly recommend

making a reservation as far in advance as possible. The driveway has enough space for 2 cars. Our house manager,

Natalie, can assist you with any special requests such as a full time cook or nanny services. She speaks English.

There is a large Carrefour supermarket located in nearby Vence. The Nice airport is an easy 15 minute drive from the house.

KIDS: The house has been used by our family for 6 generations. Its is rustic but generally safe.

1. the pool is located at the bottom of the property and it is gated.

2. there are many terraces. there are barriers but please be mindful of your children at all times

3.we have plenty of toys but ask that these be taken care of and returned to there proper storage place.

4.folding crib and high chair available

5. separate TV room for kids

6. for an extra cost there is a 5th bedroom that can be hired for a nanny.

SPARE 5th Bedroom: There is a spare 5th bedroom that can be hired for an additional charge. This is the former house keeper's apartment

it is very nice but a slightly less standard than the rest of the house.

BEAUTIFUL, SPECIAL PROPERTY

We stayed in Lou Miedjou with our family for our wedding. From the moment we walked through the old wooden door in the high wall (opened with a giant, medieval-looking key) we knew we had stumbled upon something very special. A romantic, ancient setting at the very top of St Paul de Vence, comfortably and beautifully furnished, with mature gardens and a terrace with a clear view all the way to the sea (which is 20km away!). The house became the star attraction in most of our wedding photos; our four year old nephew said it was like staying in a princess’s castle. It is very private, yet the busy tourist village of St Paul is barely a 5 minute stroll away, with a regular bus to Nice. Lou Miedjou really is something out of the ordinary; you will not come across many villas to rent like this one. Very highly recommended.

LOVELY VIEWS AND GREAT LOCATION

Just returned from our second stay at Lou Miedjou and had another fabulous time. The house is so conveniently located next to St Paul that we and our guests had a short 2min walk into town for coffee, dinner, shopping or visit to the playpark for the kids. The pool is beautiful and heated to such a lovely temperature that the kids could stay in it for hours at a time. Nathalie the caretaker was so helpful and kind enough to babysit during our 2 week stay allowing my husband and I to have some lovely trips to neighbouring villages, leisurely lunches by the sea and offering opportunities to shop in Nice. We will definitely be coming back.

STUNNING LOCATION AND BEAUTIFUL VILLA

We stayed at this wonderful villa for 17 nights last June. Our stay was without fault. The house had a warm homely feeling and our party of five felt at home at once. The pool and garden area is beautifully landscaped. Most evenings were spent on the stone terrace over looking the town of St Paul de Vence and beyond.

It is best to have a car during your stay to obtain provisions and to make the most of the countryside.

The property was clean and very well presented. The housekeeper meet us on arrival and also facilitated a baby sitter for us. We then had a stunning meal at the La Colombe d'Or. This landmark restaurant and garden is 100m down the cobblestone road.

Overall the experience was wonderful and enjoyed by everyone!!

  • as the house was built in the early part of the past century the bathrooms are very typical of a rustic provencal house. the master bedroom counts with a full bathroom as does the 'rose' room. The 'blue' room and the 'childrens' room has shower-tubs and sinks but toilet for these is located in the hall. We see this as a charming aspect of the home. The 3 bedrooms with either a King or Queen size beds also have a large terrace with outstanding views.
