We do an annual family vacation at the ozarks with my parents, my brothers family, and our family. We won't be returning to this property as it was a bit cramped for our families and overall the house is in need of updates.
I will start with the positives because there are many great things about this property. The fenced yard, dock, and water trampoline were absolutely amazing! The property sits in a very nice quite cove with just enough activity to keep you entertained. We brought our own boat and rented a jet ski overnight. The owner to the house next door came to his house friday and saw us struggling with the lift. Turns out he owned the rental as well. He was great to come over and help us work the boat lifts so we could properly put our things under cover and care the rest of our stay. The owners and family that helps manage the rental are very nice.
The dock was large and a great place for swimming, floating and overall water fun for all ages! We also have a small dog that got a sense of freedom with the fenced in back yard. We don't have this at home so we walk on a leash when outside. He was in heaven!
Now the downside of this property. It simply needs updates and I might even suggest a new cleaning company. From simple things like the bedding not appearing washed and with stains and lots of wear. I would a suggest bringing your own bedding. There is also NOT a washer/dryer.
Stairs to upstairs master very steep and narrow. Not great.
The kitchen while it had many of the things you need, it definitely didn't have service for the 10 the house says it accommodates. Several dishes were put away dirty.
We had one small maintenance issue. The ceiling fan in the bunk room was hanging. We took a picture and immediately sent it to the owner letting them know we weren't comfortable sleeping in the bed under the fan or using it. The cleaning people had also notified them and they left a message with their maintenance company. This was on Wednesday. Maintenance showed up on Friday afternoon. Didn't make us feel like we were a priority.
Overall the house is in need of remodeling and update of window treatments, supplies, bedding, etc. I would also suggest to be mindful of the size of the house while it can accommodate 10 it is cramped. Everything is very small. Our
families made it work and spent much of our time outdoors. We were also lucky enough to have beautiful weather and didn't need to be inside.
My husband and I, daughter and son-in-law and their 2 daughters had a 4 day stay here. What a nice place. The fenced yard was a great perk since we had 3 dogs along. You could walk right out to the boat dock to fish, use the peddle boat or swim. Putting the boat in was convenient, being just a few doors down. It had everything we needed and was roomy enough for all of us. We had a great time and would recommend it.
My husband and 2 grown daughters had a great time. We spent our days floating in the lake and jumping on the trampoline just steps from the house. Our dog had the time of his life and found out he could jump off the dock and swim over to the steps on the seawall to get back on the dock and start all over again. We brought our boat with us and the owners were there upon our arrival and helped us get situated. It was wonderful to be able to walk out the door and have easy access to our boat. Since we were able to use their lift all we had to do was a quick wipe down to our boat after pulling it out just a few houses down when our vacation ended. Loved that we could walk out and hop in the boat and go whenever we wanted to.....really enjoyed the boat rides at dusk. The girls had a great time wakeboarding since the home is located off the main channel and boat traffic is at a mimimum. We ate at Coconuts which allows you to bring your leashed dog and Captain Ron's had really good food and a great atmosphere also. We used the grill also a couple of nights and the kitchen had everything we needed including a crock pot that we used a few times also. I already miss having my morning coffee on the deck and the view of the lake!
My husband and I invited four friends to join us for a week of golf and fishing at the Lake. We've stayed several places in prior years, but none compare to this lovely little house! The photos can't adequately depict what you see when you walk in the door. The entire house is tastefully decorated, with lots of thoughtful touches like current magazines, books, and candles. We’ve also never been to such a tranquil spot on the Lake. It’s close to plenty of activity if/when you want it, but perfectly peaceful and a beautiful view to come “home” to.
We found everything we needed for a comfortable stay for the six of us, including plenty of cooking utensils, even a large enough skillet for a fish fry! We chose to use the charcoal grill for most of our dinners, although there is also a gas grill available.
We highly recommend this property - even the fishing was good! We hope to return again next year.
Rented this property last year and will be returning this summer again. Great location for skiing and wake-boarding. Situated in a secluded area off the main channel, the property was close enough to go (by boat or car) to restaurants on the lake (Coconuts is great for daytime, but Jolly Rogers has superior food). We also were able to go out on the main and go to some of the bigger named bars. My wife and I have three children (23, 18, and 6) who had a great time swimming and using the floating trampoline and launch pad (remember the movie "Heavyweights"?). We have recommended this property to all of our friends, one of which has booked this summer already. We have rented a place at the lake the last six summers, but this will be the first we will be returning to again. Great relaxing location with all the amenities. The boat slip and lift is an added bonus that is hard to find anywhere else. Thank you for allowing us to use and enjoy your property again!!!
I am really struggling with the first review. My family (my wife, and two kids in early 20's and their boy friend and girlfriend) had one of the best times of our life. The place is very nice and cozy in a nice quiet cove. The dock with an available slip and boat lift allowed for us to keep our boat nice and clean. The dock also has a sun deck and there is a tramboline the young adults enjoyed. The house is probably 25 feet from the water with no steps. The palce had a brand new ramp to the dock. Inside was very nice. The place has a big open kitchen with lots of bar space. The place is also very pet friendly which was nice since we could bring our three dogs. There are plenty of places on the lake close to eat and drink.
I am also a Coconuts lover but only as a place to go and eat and drink(they have a great adult only swim up bar and a beach for the kids). I liked being able to come back to my own quite house to cook and relax. We are unable to return this year due to my son finishing Law school and my daughter finishing her undergraduate degree but I have recommended this place to my friends.
