Wow, what an incredible building! If you are visiting Butte, this beautiful loft is literally at the center of the city. The windows are HUGE with views ns all directions. Both bedrooms are very large, kitchen is beautiful and the furnishings are top notch. When we mentioned to people in Butte where we were staying, several said that they had heard it was the ultimate place to stay in Butte. Considering that the nicer hotels in Butte (which there are only a few) all charge $125+/nt, why stay anywhere else? Cannot wait to return!!!!
I stayed at The Loft while in Butte to use the wonderful Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives, which are a few blocks away. Views from The Loft are amazing and encourage contemplation about this fascinating town's complex social history. The Loft was sparkling clean, the historic Metals Bank Building in which it is located is steeped in atmosphere, and almost everything I wanted to visit was within walking distance. Free parking in the enclosed garage is included. This is a great, funky, special place in the heart of Butte's uptown. The Loft is huge and updated, but situated within an extremely atmospheric old building. If you like your travel accommodations to be unique and memorable, The Loft is absolutely the place for you. For me. staying there was a very important part of learning about and beginning to understand Butte.
myself, husband, and daughter, along with my mother stayed here in june of 2013. views are amazing along with the character of the building. everything was very easy to find and if there was a question, the caretaker lives within the building and was always available if needed. everything was easy to find and very well explained when we got there. getting in and out of the garage area was no problem at all and seemed like a well thought out system. Saturday morning farmers market was an unexpected pleasure to watch being set up and attend as well. really great crafts and homemade goodies, fresh fruits and veggies all at the bottom of the stairs. restaurant on main floor had great food, along with the one on street level, also very friendly staff. we loved walking around town during the days and visiting the local shops and restaurants. everything was really well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom, along with the bedrooms. every effort was made to make you feel "at home". nothing but a great experience...
I came to vacation in Butte. I loved staying uptown next to all the old buildings. I walked to the well stocked grocery store, Hennessy Market, for some organic supplies and cooked in the apt while looking at the view!! There were a handful of places to get coffee and enjoy the morning air, my favorite one was this cute cafe at the bottom of the building. Also in the building there was a restaurant for everyone called the Metals Sports Bar&Grill.
I found it easy to check in and operated the doors and elevator and felt safe all around.
I enjoyed all the urban sound that urban living gives, but if you don't they thought of that too and there are sound makers and fans. And I love the heat, but if you don't there are air-conditioners that work great (I did use one one night, I admit it :-)
Did I mention that I love the style, modern antique? I love walking across a new tiles floor and opening a vintage door with the original knob. Love it!!
Oh, and I could just walk up a few blocks to the old railroad trail that is now a bike/run path. I did that every morning, so nice!
Okay, I'll stop there. I had a great stay!
