Blueberry Cove Cottage is located on Tripp Lake in Southern Maine (Poland, ME), a few hours north of Boston. This rustic cottage is perfect for a secluded get-away or a fun-filled family vacation. There are two bedrooms: one with a queen size bed, the second with two single beds. There is also a pullout queen-sized sofa-bed and single bed in the living areas. There is a TV, DVD, phone & wireless access. The lake and private beach are right outside your door. A dock, raft, canoe, paddle boat, picnic table, barbecue, and comfortable lawn furniture (including a very relaxing hammock) are all available for your enjoyment. You'll fall in love with the beauty and tranquility of the lake and the evening calls of the loons. Great for swimming & boating. One hour from the Maine Wildlife Park, L.L.Bean and other outlets, Bowdoin College, and Portland. Other easy daytrips include Casco Bay, Old Orchard Beach, Bethel, Augusta or North Conway and Mount Washington, NH. Enjoy the real Maine!

Tripp Lake is a wonderful place to explore. You can meander by canoe in the twisting stream that flows out of the lake or take a stroll along the road lined with quaint homes and gardens next to the lake. There are several local restaurants in the area and great antiquing. The county fairs are not far and Maine craft fairs are a treat. (Check on the calendar at our website at BlueberryCoveCottage.com to see what events are happening at the time you're interested.) You can also drive an hour to Bowdoin College, the L.L.Bean Store (open 24 hours), the Maine Wildlife Park (great picnicking, barbecue facilities, nature walks, and wildlife like bears, moose, mountain lion, etc.) This area is full of local color. You'll avoid the tourist traps and be able to enjoy the natural beauty and Maine's down-to-earth culture.

Notes:
Please note that the water in the cottage is lake water, which means it is not for drinking (or for teeth brushing). There will be several gallons of drinking water provided for each weekly stay. Also, there will be two boats available for guest use: a canoe and a paddleboat. Paddles and life preservers provided. Note: Life preservers must be worn at all times by anyone using boats and no young person under the age of 16 is allowed to use any boat without being accompanied by an adult. Guests may bring their own boat as well and can put boats in at the private beach outside of the cottage. The water next to the dock starts out shallow so is good for swimming. There is a raft further out in the deep water. Note: All use of boats that are provided or boats brought by guests, as well as all swimming and any other water activities, is at one's own risk.

I hadn't been to Maine since I was maybe 9 years old and had always wanted the full experience whenever it was I returned. This place was definitely the best I could have hoped for. I flew up to Boston and met up with a friend and then we made the journey north. It was the perfect size for the two of us. There was lots of helpful info on the area just inside. Watching the sunset from the beach isn't something I could soon forget. Tripp lake is beautiful and we spent many hours canoeing around, swimming or laying on the floating dock. I had never before been in water so clean and refreshing. Definitely check out the little zoo they have up here and make a day trip out to Portland.

I plan on returning ASAP
