Great location but poorly run operation.

The compound was a great location, central to all shops and restaurants. The owner was out of town during our stay so he had his neighbor look after the place. When we arrived, we pointed out several issues to the neighbor, such as dirty roof deck and stained carpet that were there when we arrived so we would not be charged after we left. Our week stay was great, and we enjoyed the house very much. The problems began after we left when the rental agency and the owner stacked up several charges against me and my group for things that our group did not cause to the house. The neighbor never told the owner or rental agency of the previous conditions of the house when we arrived. It is a crooked operation, so renters beware. On top of that, there is an art gallery below the house with a well known but very rude owner. His attitude alone was enough for me to never come back to Key West. Would not recommend to anyone.
Owner's Response: The guests who wrote this review were using absusive language to women and throwing beer on poeple passing by on Duval Street. The local property management
company that helps me with my property had three separate complaints about these guests.
They burnt cigar holes in the awning of the gallery below and left trash everywhere. They were charged for their burn holes and extra cleaning out of their security deposit.
