My family came to Blowing Rock in the early sixties and found this magnificent 5 acre mountaintop a glorious place to spend the summers and escape the summer heat of the city. I always felt it was too special to not share, so a few years ago, we renovated the three story lodge, adding a new kitchen to the upper two level living area. The kitchen boasts a Viking range, tile countertops and an onyx bar. The sitting area of the kitchen has a bank of windows to enjoy the view. Maple floors were added along with cherry walls in the living room which has soaring heights and huge picture windows. The treetop master suite with bath offers incredible breezes and the feeling you can almost touch the moon and the stars and then awaken to a breathtaking sunrise. The mid level private suite offers bath

and vestibule The granite fireplace is original using granite from Grandfather Mountain. CloudForest has always been an incredibly special place to enjoy the most breathtaking views, hike the trails and enjoy privacy and peace in an enchanting setting. As a licensed North Carolina Real Estate agent, I have had an opportunity to extensively explore the High Country and am always reminded that there is nothing quite like CloudForest! It is a delight to be able to share this special spot - guests always find such awe in the experience.

The BEST view in all of Blowing Rock!

We spent 3 nights at CloudForest with another couple and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed watching the spectacular sunrises from the deck and the views of the mountains are unforgettable. Charlotte's home is beautifully decorated and was equipped with the necessary items to cook full meals or quicks breakfasts on the go. On clear mornings we were able to see the outlines of the buildings in Charlotte! The home is just a short drive to the Main Street in Blowing Rock where there is plenty of shopping and dining choices . We also visited several local wineries - all within a 45 minute drive. The hiking is close and we highly recommend the hike at Moses Cone as well as the hike at Linville Falls. We can't wait to return to the cabin for another relaxing visit!

Our stay in Cloud Forest

My wife and I are sad that our week is ending here at Cloud forest. We had a chance to meet Charlotte when her little puppy ran up the outdoor stairs. She is so nice and really wants you to have a perfect vacation. I found this property the same way you are, through VRBO, and I am so glad I did! Charlotte shared her gorgeous 17 acres with us, and I cannot imagine finding a more beautiful property. The home is situated with the most magnificent southeasterly view, but she has a few short trails that take you to a breathtaking overlook to the northwest. As a photographer I have had a field day! She promised to post some of my pictures, so take a look! The home has a wonderful and inviting cabin like feel, it's very open and airy. The upstairs bedroom is like a private retreat, with views in all directions. The kitchen is fully equipped, including lots of extras, so don,t buy too much on your way in. We have loved it here and will look forward to our return.

Best View in Blowing Rock!!

We enjoyed our stay at Cloudforest!! Spectacular view and perfect location. Close to nearby downtown Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Unfortunately the parks were closed due to the government shutdown, but we walked up to the Moses Cone Manor and the view looking down to the lake is beautiful. We also went to the Art in the Park in Blowing Rock and that was fun! Bistro Roca Restaurant we highly recommend, very good! The owner Charlotte is very friendly and helpful, it was nice meeting her. The trails/paths on the property are nice to adventure through the woods. All in all, we would love to return again, maybe in the spring this time. I would love to see all those Rhondadenderons that surround the property in bloom. Great location, Great weather, Great time!!

My girlfriends and I just returned from another stay at Cloudforest and all agree that it has to be one of the most relaxing vacation spots we have ever visited. The view is second to none. Watching the clouds roll in and out, the sun rise and set, is simply spectacular. The home is exactly as shown in the photos and full of history and charm. Charlotte is always helpful with restauarant selections, driving directions and sites to visit. Some of our favorite restaurants are Storie Street Grill and Bisto Roca. They have been consistently good. Price Lake is convenient off the Blue Ridge Parkway and great for hiking or kayaking. A trip to Linville Falls is definitely worth the view. CloudForest is also very close to the WestGlow Spa. We recommend the day trip package. We hope to spend many more trips at Cloudforest. It is the perfect venue to slip away and enjoy the good things in life.

It's always strange staying in a stranger's house. Charlotte was very nice, but it's still strange (she lives on the first floor). We stayed in June and the view from the house was beautiful, but green and more green. I would love to see it in October. The house was apparently built in the 50's or 60's, but the bathrooms and kitchen have been renovated.
