Elegant, country escape overlooking the the Shenandoah Valley in the Blue Ridge Mts.of VA , just off Route 231, one of America's ten most outstanding scenic byways(Great for biking!). Our 60 private acres backs up to the Shenandoah National Park & Old Rag Mt., which offer many scenic hiking trials plus we have our own private hiking trails. After hiking, soak in our 7 person hot tub & enjoy the quiet serenity of the country. View the wildlife or the spectacular star-studded sky or take a drive on Skyline Drive. We have a stocked pond for catch & release, however, there's trout fishing nearby. Pop some popcorn in our theater size electric popper & watch your favorite movie on our large sized HDTV screen with Direct TV access. Take along your choice drink from the downstairs bar & play a game of shuffleboard on our 9' table. Play a game of darts or a game of chess at our large, antique, wooden table or sit & relax atop cocktail hill where we have a perugla & a picnic table.

If you want to visit a nearby city, Charlottesville, Flint Hill, Washington & Culpeper are close with many restaurants, movies, live theater, concerts & shops plus there are many other smaller 'country towns' which offer an inside peak of 'real' country life. Visit some of the many wineries, golf, horseback ride, historic sites & battlefields, Luray Caverns, Historic Monticello & Montpelier, antique shops, art galleries, University of VA in Charlottesville. Ski at Massanutten, 1 hour away, or enjoy their golf, go carts, bowling, or huge indoor/outdoor water park. A massage therapist will come to the lodge for your spa needs. There are many scheduled events, festivals, & activities throughout the year. There are world class (Inn of Little Washington) to down home restaurants within 5-25 miles. The lodge is ideal for family gatherings, corporate retreats, reunions, birthdays, girls/guys weekends & theme weekends: cooking, painting, photography, birding, nature & much more

  • The lower level has two bedrooms, 1 queen & 2 twin beds, each with separate bathrooms. The main level has the master bedroom with a queen bed & separate bathroom on one end of the house. On the other end of the house is a full bath with 2 other bedrooms, one with a queen bed & one with two twin beds. Upstairs in the loft are two built in queen beds & two twin beds. This is a great place for kids or mixed singles & couples. Each bathroom is very unique in that the sink design is different in each one & all are vessel sinks. Each bedroom is theme based in its decor: bird room, cowboy/cowgirl, African, & native American. All rooms have large windows to let the outside in & beautifully decorated. Our sister lodge, SPIRIT DANCER sleeps 12 people which is better for smaller parties or if this lodge is booked or if you want both lodges for a large group.

Notes: Wheelchair accessible but must discuss before occupancy. Screened in porch will be completed in spring of '09 in the back of the house. A patio with outside grill & fireplace is off the porch as is the hot tub. It has a teak table with 8 chairs for dining. In the front of the house on the main level is the outside deck which is 40' long & has a glass dining table with 6 chairs. A brown wicker couch, loveseat, & 2 matching chairs with coffee table are on one end of the deck. Additional lawn chairs are available for set-up if needed.
