Cottage was clean and comfortable; nice, very large yard; furnishings and appliances a bit dated. Nice front porch. Internet and cell phone service in the area is deplorable - not the owner's fault or anything they can do about it, owners have added wireless internet but service providers are undependable and service is intermittent at best. Street cottage is located on is beautiful for early morning and evening walks; but no public access to the beach which was very disappointing to me; harbor area has a very small unattractive beach area. Very limited activities in the area; this is a nice cottage for a one to two week getaway to relax away from everything.
This cottage has all of the needed amenities. It is great if you are looking for closeness to the water without a huge price tag. The weather is great there in July, when the heat is just starting to rear it's ugly head in Michigan. The breeze is wonderful!
I personally loved the quaint outdoor inclosed porch. It could be updated a little. The few things that I would change are the door thresholds need repair. The back door screen is a hazard waiting to happen. You could very easily get cut on it. I would inclose the water heater. My granddaughter was fascinated by it and had a hard time distracting her. I would also replace the shower heads. A cheap, but needed upgrade. These are suggestions that are easily and cheaply remedied and I'm sure that if they are, the next stay will be fantastic. I would stay there again!
Stayed here for a week in August and LOVED every minute. It is clean, quiet and only short walk to the harbor. The yard is huge and the enclosed porch is wonderful. I would highly recommend this property and plan to visit again.
This is a wonderful place to stay. More than a cottage, this is a roomy house with two full bedrooms, two baths, a nice living room, a fully furnished kitchen, a big laundry room and a garage. Best of all is the screened in front porch. The yard is HUGE. Just about everything you could want is within walking distance. The propertery is very well maintained and the owners are very nice and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.
