Ocean City Vacation Rental house

My husband and I spent two wonderful weeks at this lovely vacation home on the southeast coast of Barbados. As other reviewers have mentioned, "Bliss" is very spacious, clean and well maintained. It had all the amenities we could wish for; we used the dishwasher daily and appreciated having a washing machine and internet access. What we most enjoyed about the house was the amazing cliffside location. We loved waking up every morning to see the stunning view from the deck and coming back to it after going swimming or sightseeing. We rented a car from Stoutes, had it dropped off at the house the day after we arrived and found it very useful. There are lovely beaches with calm water on the south coast and we often drove to one of them for a swim (Miami Beach is a 15 minute drive.) On the advice of Leith and David, we went to the "fish fry" at Oistins on Friday evenings and had a great time. Leith and David were wonderful hosts and couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend and feel very lucky to have found it on the homeaway website.

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet retreat or a romantic getaway this property is for you. The sunrise is truly spectacular from this cliffside property and the sound of the ocean is soothing, The villa is clean and well maintained. We found that we were not wanting a single amenity, everything you need is there. We were 5 adults vacationing and found the villa to be spacious. I would recommend a car to get around or if you are adventurous like we were the city bus is only a short walk from the villa. The owners/hosts, Leith and David, are very gracious and helpful. I would certainly recommend this property. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning here again.

My family stayed at Dave and Leith's villa in December of
2008. The villa is spacious, clean and very well maintained. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood about ten minutes drive from the airport. It had all of the amenities we were looking for (sleeps 6, full kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry facilities, internet access, etc.). Our favourite part was the huge deck. We spent many hours enjoying the amazing view, soaking up the sun and watching turtles in the surf below the house. The weather was perfect - warm and sunny every day. We appreciated the shade on the deck and the breeze off the ocean.

There is a small grocery store about five minutes away and a larger one approx. 10 minutes drive. We used the bus service for a few days to get in to town and the beaches and then rented a van from Stoutes rental for the last few days of our stay. I would recommend renting a car as it is the most convenient way of getting around the island (if you can tear yourself away from the house).

Foul Bay Beach is a five minute walk from the house and there is a hidden stairway down from the cliff (ask Dave to show you were it is). We had a morning walk there several times and the beach was mostly deserted. Crane Beach is a 10 minute drive and my teenage boys loved playing in the surf. It is a beautiful beach. Don't miss it.

All in all we had a great week. Every beach that we went to in Barbados was beautiful. The ocean was incredibly warm. We loved it there and did not want to go home.

Dave and Leith were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We would highly recommend their house and cannot wait to go back.
