Our gorgeous 1,200-square-foot condo rental, ‘Casa Ladonna,’ is located in the affluent Pedregal area of Cabo San Lucas. From the condo’s 400-square-foot patio, you will experience extraordinary views of desert mountains, downtown Cabo San Lucas, and the Sea of Cortez.
Our condo rental is part of Portofino, a secluded, 36-unit luxury complex tucked into the hillside above the colorful village, offering a gated community and the convenience of a 5-minute walk to downtown.
You are invited to use the private Pedegral beaches and tennis courts, full service wellness spa with massage, Pilates, and cafes. We can provide assistance with scheduling fishing charters, diving trips, golf outings, and can provide excellent dining recommendations in Cabo San Lucas.
This condo is just as pictured up in the mountains above Cabo San Lucas. The operative word here is mountain. If you have issues with walking on an incline, this might not be the spot for you. The elevator is currently not working in the complex. A cab ride round trip to WalMart for supplies will cost $32, so stock up! It was easy to walk to restaurants and even the marina, but keep in mind you have to climb that hill when you are ready to head home for the night. We were a family of four adults traveling together, so the 3 bedrooms were perfect for us. We found it necessary to purchase bottled water as the water had a funny taste. Water pressure in the kitchen was low, so the dishwasher didn't do a very good job. We found it necessary to handwash dishes. There is a washer and dryer in the condo. The balcony area really expands the living space, and we spent a lot of time out there.
Our family had a wonderful experience @ this condo. The owners and Property Manager were great to work with. They responded quickly and professionally. The unit itself was very clean and cozy. We had to move rooms due to the comfort levels of the beds, but everyone was satisfied once that happened. When the security guards at the gate were very nice to us! It was a great experience!
Overall, a good place. Well maintained, nicely situated above the city, so it's quiet.
Some people complain about the stairs. There are elevators, so unless you are claustrophobic, don't worry. The street leading to the condo is steep with very rough cobblestones and can be difficult to walk. Also, the nearest store is several blocks away. The nearest big store is taxi or car distance. The condo itself, is fairly comfortable, but could probably use a couch upgrade. The TV is a 32 incher and there is no cable or antenna, so bring your DVDs. There are two DVD players which work most of the time (but usually freeze up at least once per movie). Good blender and the kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans. The BBQ works OK. The deck is very large and has a table, 4 chairs and two lounge chairs. It had a couple cigarette butts when we arrived, but overall, the place was clean. The beds are comfortable and although the lighting could be better, it was adequate. We told the owners the date and time we would arrive and were told we would be met to tell us how to get into the unit and give us a short orientation. No one was there, but luckily there was a guy there
who may or may not have worked for the place or lived there who helped us get into the unit. The vaunted people who work in the office weren't there for the first 5 days of our visit. It was over Christmas, but 5 days was too long. When they were present, they were nice and helpful. Only one pool was working, but it was nice and never crowded during our entire 7 night stay. If you stay in this place and want to cook, make sure you have a car or stop on the way from the airport. Otherwise you have about a $30 taxi ride to a big store (like Costco, Mega, or Walmart). Taxis are pretty expensive with a ride from town (about 3-5 minutes) costing between $6 and $10, depending on the driver. Negotiate a rate before getting in the cab. Oh, and the dishwasher is loud and made the dishes dirtier, not cleaner. Nice refrigerator, stove. We never turned on the AC but it seemed to be a good one, and each room had it's own and there are fans in every room.
I wanted to thank you for sharing your condo with our family. We had a great time in Cabo and really enjoyed the location. While it is further from the beach than we are typically used to, the quick walk down the hill to town was fairly easy. The condo was well equiped with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the stay.
The local management at the complex was incredible. When we arrived, the television and internet were not working and the local management did everything in their power to assist. They were able to restore the television serice on the first business day after we arrived, and while they were not able to restore the internet service until the day before we left, they did ensure we could go to the lobby and obtain internet service. The manager even drove us to the urgent care clinic one day when our son was ill. He was so very kind and caring, and represented the complex outstandingly well.
Being in Cabo over the New Year was incredible and the view from the Condo was amazing. We watched as the fireworks (1,100 reported) lit up the sky over the bay. It was an incredible site.
Thank you again for sharing your condo with our family.
Stayed a week at Casa Ladonna. Came down for fishing with 2 buddies. Overall, we found the place as advertised and comfortable for our purposes i.e. a place to clean up after a day on the water and sleeping. the property is looking a little run down with lights out in public areas and elevators not fixed the entire week of our stay. But, that might be just Mexican time. Sure makes for a killer last leg after a walk up from the marina though!
Air conditioning units next to the back bedrooms are a bit loud as were some partiers above us one night.
Disappointed and concerned at the start when we arrived and found the condo filthy and looking lived in and the propery manager not expecting us. Turned out he had not picked up email instructions from the owner to expect us. All good after 3+hours. Satellite tv fixed next day which was a relief since we got socked in by a hurricane for a day.
A phone for local calls instead of providing cell phone and having guests buyi time cards would be a plus. More local info in the condo book/instructions like cost of taxi fares and restaurants to try would also be a great help for newbies to Cabo.
This unit # 92 was great, the amenities worked well for us. Everything was as advertised and very well maintained, there were no surprises. The three bedrooms were perfect for the number of our guests. Having a laundry in the unit was a blessing. Best of all was the full length balcony where we were able to sit out in the morning, with our coffee and watch the beautiful sunrises and in the evening enjoying the cool breezes. We felt very safe as the property was gated and protected. We are planning to return to Cabo next year and we would stay in this unit if available. We can recommend this unit without hesitation.
