Have you ever wanted to rent a large vacation home and wondered why you did not get a reduced rate if just two of you were coming? Alta Vista may be where you want to go; we know that the 'wear and tear' on our home is dramatically reduced when your party is small, and have structured our pricing accordingly! The 'Alta Vista' Chalet is ideal for winter and summer vacationing! At 7300-feet elevation, Alta Vista has stunning 360-degree panoramic vistas. To the west, you overlook the Tahoe-Donner downhill ski area (ski-in, ski-out possible). From north to south, you look above the Tahoe Donner resort into endless High Sierra mountain ranges. The Alta Vista Chalet was built in 1998 and subsequently substantially expanded. Panoramic vistas are maximized from every room and large wraparound decks on two levels. It features 4 bedrooms (two of them master bedrooms), 3 full bathrooms and 1 guest bathroom, and has approx. 2100-square-foot living area. You simply feel at the top of the world!

The Alta Vista chalet is located 40 miles from Reno at 7300 feet elevation and has incredible vistas from every room and deck. The Northstar ski slopes are prominent in your southeastern views. You are close to the famous Tahoe-Donner cross-country ski facility. Less than a half-hour drive will take you to the world-class Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, or Sugar Bowl downhill ski resorts. During the summer season, desirable Donner Lake with its numerous recreational facilities is available. There are many spectacular hiking and biking trails and rock climbing possibilities nearby - leave your car in the garage of 'Alta Vista' and walk 400 yards to the trail head of the Donner Ridge trail system (OK for mountain biking)! In winter, put on your cross country skis or snow shoes at the door steps of Alta Vista, set your GPS, and discover miles and miles of high Sierra trails.

The Tahoe Donner resort has two outdoor swim centers that are accessible to renters at a nominal fee. Raft and kayak available upon ad-hoc request from owner. Ski-In: possible from/to Tahoe-Donner Ski Area (involves some level traversing -- most guests choose the short drive to the free resort parking area). Ski-Out: possible to Tahoe-Donner Ski Area.

Attractions in summer include Tahoe/Donner resort facilities (golf, tennis, two open pools, hiking trails, boating on Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe, rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, swimming in the lakes, mountain biking on endless trails and various degrees of difficulty, etc.etc.

Ski: Alta Vista is located in the Tahoe/Donner resort which has a world-famous cross-country ski area and a family oriented downhill ski area (one quad, one regular lift, two rope tows)
