Waikiki Vacation Rental condo

I just wanted to send this note of thanks after our stay in the Ilikai vacation rental condo. It suited our needs perfectly and was MUCH more comfortable than the fancy hotel room that we had originally booked for our trip. With the kitchen and cooking utensils, and the doors that separated the bedroom from the living room, we were able to live in a way that was very relaxed and family-like. Furthermore, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful to us, particularly after we checked out of the room and needed help with arranging an airport shuttle and storing our luggage until it was time to go. Our stay was so comfortable at Ilikai that we plan to ditch hotels altogether and just look for condo rentals like this one from now on!
Definately will return to your condo and recommend to everyone !

This is the first property we have rented through homeaway so we were not sure how this would all go.

The owner was very helpful from the beginning - sending updates and answering questions. There was no hassle renting the condo and even when we arrived after an overnight flight and rang to see if they would mind us getting in early to grab a shower and put our bags in, was very accomodating and was organised without trouble and was really appreciated as we were exhausted after that flight!

The description is exact.. you cannot get a cheaper condo with this view!!! It is exactly as shown and the lanai is really big!! It is right on the beach and the hotel has a pool too. We loved sitting out there and watching the view and enjoying a few drinks.

The furnishings are not flash and if you are after a resort experience with room service etc then this won't be for you. It is simply fitted out but for us had all the essentials.. View is for real. Big Lanai, full kitchen, seperate bathroom and a sperate sleeping area. It is very convenient.. down near the hilton and actually while a bit further down the beach from the main beach.. that works in your favour as much of the music that goes on all day down there - you can't hear!!

You do get a (I think 5 or 6) nights of music from the top of the hilton.. a cultural show.. you can watch the whole thing from the lanai.. and it is fun the first couple of times.. but does get a little annoying.. but it is finished by 7.30pm.. so you can't really complain! At least it doesn't go on till 2am like some hotels further down..

The bedroom is not really a bedroom but a divider between one area of the room and another.. and it doesn't go all the way to the roof.. so it was ok for us, but if you want a completely seperate room you might be a bit dissapointed.. Also the bed was a little uncomfortable and we probabaly would like a bit more blockout type curtains... But the truth is we didn't care too much as the price more than makes up for any thing like that!

Basically - Thumbs up and we would be back and have recommended it!
