More About the Property:
In summer, the Tahoe Rim Trail passes within a half mile of the house, and rock climbing and mountain biking abound. Kahle Recreational Center offers a huge playground for kids only minutes from the house, and Nevada State Beach, with three miles of lakeshore, is a ten minute drive.
The house is perfect for family reunions, corporate or company retreats, and weddings. It has a full chef's kitchen with a four burner, commercial grade Viking range, 36' griddle, overhead broiler, and an oven that easily fits several lasagnas or a 20+ lb. turkey. The main house, Fjeldheim has five master suites (either king or queen beds) with their own bathrooms, two more private bedrooms that have hall baths and a loft area with seven double beds and two twins. The loft also has its own full bathroom.
We have a 48' Viking gas barbecue outside by the lawn overlooking the lake. On the lawn and deck we host weddings, receptions and birthday parties with 70+ guests. It is an ideal venue for enjoying Tahoe in the summer.
The outdoor hot tub also has breathtaking lake views, perfect for relaxing after a long day on the trails or on the slopes.
Broadband wireless serves the entire home and grounds.
The property has a full-time, discreet caretaker living in the guest house.
Nanny service, maid service, catering, event coordinating, group-discount ski tickets, even winery tours or yacht charters can be arranged through the caretaker.
For luxury, privacy, convenience, and lots of room for your guests, there is no better choice than Fjeldheim.
Ski:
Fjeldheim is nestled in Edgewood Canyon just off Kingsbury Grade, just five minutes from the Boulder Base of Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. (skiheavenly.com) It is less than ten minutes from the Stagecoach Base of Heavenly, 12 to 20 minutes (depending on traffic) from the Heavenly Gondola station at the Marriot development, and 15 to 35 minutes from the California Base Lodge on Ski Run Boulevard. Heavenly's Nevada side is less developed and less crowded than the California side, and is known locally for drier and fluffier powder and, in some places, more challenging terrain (look for Mott Canyon on their trail map).
Ski equipment rental and sales shops abound near the house (we particularly recommend House of Ski) and at each Nevada base lodge. The Heavenly Gondola station has a large full-service ski shop, with Tahoe Boot & Ski & other independently owned ski and bike shops just steps away.
Cross-country skiers will love Donner Pass, or just ski the 20 acres out our back door!
Golf:
Tahoe boasts a large number of golf courses as near as 5 minutes or up to an hour away from the doorstep. Enjoy high mountain vistas like Edgewood, or sprawling desert courses like Genoa. You can find local golf courses and facilities that cater to the whole range from inexpensive to pricey, from beginner to expert. Ask Josh or explore the possibilities yourself via websites like:
