Authentic Maine artwork from local artisans decorate the walls and international antique furniture adds a distinct flare to the decor. Deep waters offer excellent fishing, kayaking, and boating with a public launch nearby.

Noblehouse is on the Pemaquid Lake in the Mid-Coast region. Nearby Damariscotta is a favored place to shop. Also, we are 1/2 - 3/4 hour drive from Camden (famous for tall ships and sea-captain homes), Rockland (art museums and galleries), Rockport, and Boothbay Harbor (art and fishing), all quaint harbors with multiple cruises and fishing expeditions available. New Harbor is a tiny safe-hole right off the open ocean. Pemaquid Point (under the letters 'stm' in the words 'Christmas Cove' on the map) offers quintessential rock cliffs with crashing surf, lighthouse tours, and a quaint sandy beach. The area abounds with antique shops, artist studios, live theatre, and hiking in preserves. Gambling is in Bangor, winery tours are in Lincolnville, and Acadia National Park is about 3 hours 'down east' which is sailing lingo for 'down wind to the northeast.' If you tire of relaxing 'away-from-it-all' in your house on the lake, you will not be at a loss for something else to do.

Other Activities: Shelling, Downhill/Alpine/Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, boating, mini golf, kayaking, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, Health/Beauty Spa

Great house, great vacation!

I can't say enough good things about Nobelhouse! The lake views, the house, the hospitality of the owner and Mary Ellen and Ron were more than we ever expected. The house was perfect and came with everything we needed - linens, towels, BBQ, fire pit, boats, lifevests, etc... The location was terrific too. Close to Boothbay Harbor, Pemiquid Light House and Beach, Damariscotta, and more. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation in Maine - look no further - this house is for you!

Great house for a perfect summer retreat

5 of 5
Submitted: August 21, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
This is an outstanding summer retreat for a small or large group. In fact, this is the second time that my wife and I have stayed at this home. The home is large, very clean, open, and outfitted with a full kitchen. The view from the large living room on the second floor - adjoining the kitchen - is spectacular.

There are three large bedrooms on the second floor each with its own bathroom and shower. A large living area and office space are located downstairs and offer significant additional sleeping space or room to hang out. The balcony on the second floor is right off the kitchen/living/dining area and overlooks Pemaquid Pond.

The dock is the real winning feature of the house with a table bolted into the dock itself for a cookout with friends right on the water. There are two solid kayaks available and a rowboat (bring a small motor if you have one). The house is equipped with life preservers (child and adult sizes) and paddles/oars for the boat. We brought our own kayaks and there was plenty of dock space to tie up. The fishing is terrific and for the more avid kayak/canoe enthusiasts, explore the channel that connects Pemaquid Pond with Duck Paddle Pond.

The house is also located in a perfect location. It is conveniently located about 10 minutes away from Damariscotta, which is a neat little village with everything you need: shopping, Schooner's Landing, and a seafood market that is one of the best I've visited. The lobsters, mussels, clams are absolutely fresh. And, you have your joice of jumbo or select Pemaquid Oysters that are raised in the waters locally - and are world class. You're a short distance from Rockport - check out Shepherd's Pie - and Rockland. Camden isn't too far either and we suggest checking out Harbor Dogs.

My wife and I were engaged on the shore of this property in 2010 and married in 2011 in Maine. It simply made sense for us to take our hard-earned vacation at the same spot with a few good friends on our one year anniversary. This is a great and comfortable place to spend some time relaxing.

We look forward to another visit in the future.

My husband and I spent the week of Sept, 5-13, 2009 in this magnificent home with its wonderfull lake. We were met by Ron who manages the property as well as the owner. They could not have been any nicer. The house was well stocked with everything you might ever need. They had all kinds of boats, row, canoe, kayaks for use on the water, which we used almost daily. The location was excellent as well. Great walking trails within 10 minutes of the house and all major attractions within 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this property. We loved staying there so much, we look forward to our next visit hopefully next year.
Thanks again to Ron and Ziggy for making our stay a wonderfull experience. Nicole & Sy

This rental is a dream come true!! Our family called last minute due to a quick change of plans, & Mary Ellen & Ron did more than one can ever expect to accommodate our relatives. The pictures on the web site do not do this property justice as the post & beam work is top-notch, the furnishings are gorgeous, & the hospitality they showed us was unrivaled. The house & property are very well maintained, clean & safe for both the very young & elderly alike. There were more than enough boats to use, plenty of fish just jumping around in front of the dock for the men to catch, & the numerous loons all contributed to a peaceful & scenic week. Our 2 year old had a blast as well as my husband's grandparent's so this is a special place for anyone to stay. Thank you for everything & we will be sure to book in the future if/when our family comes into town for a visit!
