We couldn't have been happier with this rental - spotlessly clean, nicely appointed, quiet idyllic setting. The owners have thought of everything to provide for a comfortable stay. The beach is beautiful, close, and private. We enjoyed the shops, restaurants, and galleries in Saugatuck, Douglas, and South Haven - all just minutes away. The owners gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and were very attentive to our comfort without being obtrusive.

It is a very cute A frame house - located one block away from the beach. For 2 adults and a six year old boy, we had lots of choice between eating outside ,walking on deserted beach, walk in the woods, watching the birds on the porch... We had a great ime. The owners are fairly close and were able to resolve some minor issues within minutes and on the weekend !..They made us feel at home. The drive from Chicago was quick and accesibility from the highway was convenient. We loved it...

Nice place for a couple or a small family

Stayed there with my wife and mom. Location is beautiful: wooded, very shaded, extremely quiet and serene. The owner gives you keys to drive your car through an access gate down to a private beach (only for the neighborhood residents), which is a minute’s drive from the house. There are also stairs you can take to get to the same beach a 5 minute walking distance from the house. There is a nice open deck on the side of the house overlooking a little wooded creek, in addition to the balcony overlooking the same creek. The owner was very nice and attentive to our needs. The house has everything you could possibly need, including a DVD player with a small collection of DVDs, as well as a small library of light reading. Second floor stairs are very steep and narrow and could be a problem for an older person or a kid who’s not being careful, but they were just fine for my wife and me (my mom stayed in the downstairs bedroom).

A+ A-Frame Cottage

My partner and I stayed here for six nights at the end of August 2008. We really enjoyed our stay! I like the A-frame design, it is different from your regular houses. Kind of a lodge feel to the place. It sleeps four, with one double bed on the first floor and a queen sized bed in the loft. Great place for a couple.

The stairs to the loft are a little steep, so if you have to get up in the middle of the night be careful! There are lots of night lights so no problem seeing where you're going at night.

Otherwise the place is very comfortable, nicely decorated. If you're looking for a quiet relaxing getaway, this is it. The beach is a short walk and down some stairs, or you can drive to a landing area which is also near by. The beach was practically empty most of the time we were there. Nice sunsets over Lake Michigan. Beach towels and beach chairs are provided.

The cottage is in a small wooded neighborhood association near Glenn, MI. It's a 10 minute drive to Saugatuck/Douglas. We took some day trips to Holland and Kalamazoo. For us, the location worked out well.

I'd definitely stay here again!
