We had a wonderful time during our weekend stay at the house. There was enough room for three generations of us to enjoy ourselves. The fenced yard made it a great escape for our dogs. They loved running around. We would love to return. If you're looking for a place out in the country where life goes at a much slower pace, you would love this home.
The house and property has issues. A lot of the lights don"t work because the bulbs are blown. The handrails on the deck and balcony are not secured to the house, this is a serious safety issue. Only one cue for the pool table, only one TV,the oven doesn't work properly. The furniture is outdated and rundown, the flowerbeds our overgrown, snake issue. The sandbox had brokenbits of mmasonry in it. The pond was so overgrown we had to weed eat it before the kids could fish! I don't think it is worth what we paid for it!.
We recently rented this beautiful home for a weekend and loved our stay.....would highly recommend to anyone!!!!
We spent Christmas week at Walnut Cove with 4 adults, 5 kids under 12 and our dog. Everyone had a fantastic experience and the kids shed many tears when it was time to leave. Even the dog had a blast running all over the property! The house is large and very well maintained, even with so many people we weren't tripping over each other. The owners were very easy to work with, even helped us cross fingers for snow - and it worked! Had a White Christmas just like the ones I used to know....
We've stayed at about 12 different VRBO homes over the past few years and this one ranks up there with the best. Extremely easy to reserve, pay, and helpful owners. Thanks Kathy for a great Christmas break!
The home is absolutely beautiful and I loved that they stressed it was a smoke free environment. The neighbours are pretty far away so you feel pretty secluded. They have a fire-pit that you can enjoy, we definitely enjoyed our marshmallows.
We needed a place that would accept pets and boy it didn't disappoint. He had so much fun running around on the their many acres.
I would recommend this place to everyone. It was a great 10yr anniversary escape. I loved every minute of it and will definitely go back.
there are extremely limited options when looking for a vrbo in the buckhannon area. While this home is about 20 minutes drive outside of WV, the drive is worth it. the property is gorgeous. Big yard, open fields, blueberry and blackberry bushes.
they did an amazing job on the house- it's fully renovated and one of the nicer rental properties I have seen. Lots of games and a pool table for rainy weather too. the owners are super responsive- we had an issue with the water and called them that day- they called the water board and figured everything out.
the only caveats I'd have with this place are the neighbors. It is on a mostly empty road with lots of open space. Unfortunately, the closest neighbors seem to have an endless supply of coonhounds that are an extremely active and loud bunch- at all hours. Constantly. Turning on the exhaust fans at night seemed to limit the noise, but didn't do much during the day.
Overall, this is a great option for anyone looking for a rental property in the Buckhannon/ Rock Cave area- a beautiful house on a beautiful property with great owners.
