This secluded home sits on 5 acres of forested land, with a west facing view of the San Juan Islands and the Olympic Mountains. The home was built in 2007 by Guemes Island contractor Matt Simons and was designed by Seattle architect Ariel Kemp.
The home is a hikers' paradise. A 20 minute hike up the hill brings you to the top of Guemes Mountain which has a 270 degree panoramic view of the San Juan Islands and looks directly at the 11,000 foot tall Mount Baker. A 20 minute hike down the hill brings you to Square Harbor, one of the most secluded and pristine coves on Guemes Island.
The home has one bedroom nestled into the woods, a spacious and private loft, and a comfortable fold-down couch near the wood stove. A large deck and raised balcony provide plenty of space to watch the sun set over the islands, water, and mountains.
