Poe Haven :
Poe Haven Cabin is 4 miles from Poe Valley State Park and 300 Yards from Poe Paddy State Park,
Poe Valley has a lake (Dam under construction to reopen spring 2010) with a Brand New Swimming Beach. The lake is stocked and accessable by canoe, kayak, row boat, ect. See the park web site for all options.
Poe Haven is 100 yards off of the famous Penns Creek. Home of the Green Drake fly hatch (end of May to middle of June). Not to mention the Blue Wing Olives, Crane Flys, Sulfer's, Caddis in Elk, Tan Black & Olive, The place is a 'Bug Factory'. Actually sometimes this makes Penns challenging, but no other place in the State of Pa hold's the huge numbers of all native trout. Browns i n the 16 to 18 inch range are common and i have caught and seen a few over 20 with the largest at 26'. Yea thats right 26 inches, caught by myself (Green Drake Parachute Emerger) thing looked more like a salmon then a trout. Lot's of The Most beatitful Brookies i have ever seen, and up to 16 inches,
