Misleading Descriptions of Apartment
Review Submitted: August 14, 2009
Date of Stay: May 2009
We feel it is important to share our feeling about our stay at Casa
Ensenada. There were four of us, ourselves from UK and friends from the
New Jersey. Our stay was in May 2009, but have had to wait until now, so we were able to write the review together.
We were very disappointed by a number of things:
1> The internet connection (vital to run UK business while away)
was only available by the pool or outside the office of the owner, which is not made clear beforehand.
2> The washing machine is not in the apartment, but in an unidentified small building near the pool area, which is not made clear beforehand.
3> Air conditioning units were only in the bedrooms not as is suggested by an airconditioned apartment.
4> The 'swimming' beach was not accessable from the apartments on foot. We walked at least a mile along the beach in both directions and could not get past the rugged rock base to enter the water to swim.
5> The utensils, plates pot etc were old and we didn't fancy using them at all. There weren't even enough glasses and plates had there been 6 people staying, which you would have thought there ought to be.
6> Generally the whole condition of the interior was in dire need of a refurb. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very tired and the sheets were damp on our arrival.
7> The most outrageous thing about the place though is the woman who manages it, whose office you have to sit by to access the internet.
When we commented upon the issues we had with the place she was uncooperative, unhelpful, and dismissive (particularly noticeable as our cell phones also did not work to call the owner) telling us simply to leave.
On a positive note: The condition of the the outside of the villa the pool and the gardens was beautiful, faultless. The owner (who lives state side) repaid us in full when we were not satisfied. We stayed two nights and not five.
