The house features modern feel with seaside charm. Each room is designed to be comfortable and unique. Rockport is a seaside village of Rockport, Maine. Classic schooners sail from town on day and overnight trips. Rockport & nearby Camden & Rockland offer a wealth of art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, first run & art house movie theatres. In Rockport you will also find the Maine Photographic Workshops, Avena Botanicals & The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship offering classes, presentations & exhibits. The Farnsworth Museum in nearby Rockland features an impressive collection of original Wyeth paintings. Crafts fairs, art shows, yard sales, festivals & special events happen all summer long. There's a major Antique Fair a short drive away in Union in August. In September, the Common Ground Fair is a prestigious showcase for Maine's organic farmers & growers

A picture-perfect house!

Well, what can I say about this place? First, let's talk about the setting. Rockport is a tiny little fishing village, just off the beaten path, yet minutes to Camden & Rockland. I just returned from a week at the Maine Media Workshops, and this house was just around the corner.

Now, the house is everything you could need (or want) for a relaxing get-a-way on the Maine coast. The furnishings are beautiful, and everything I needed was already there. The gas fireplace was perfect for those October chills & the big flat-screen TV was just like home. The kitchen was fully stocked & the sunroom was a great place to enjoy the morning coffee. I loved the over-sized bathroom upstairs with the tub & shower (and a skylight to see the stars).

A comfy queen-sized bed with lots of blankets (you need them at this time of the year) was just perfect after a long day of "shooting" photographs.

If you are looking for a quiet & peaceful setting that's away from the maddening crowds, this place is just perfect. I think I founf my home away from home for my next visit to Maine in 2010.
