Relaxing beach getaway

Cape Hill Cottage was the perfect summer retreat for the two of us. The cottage is an original and has been restored/renovated with a great eye for detail. The surrounding property is wooded and beautiful. Evenings on the front deck watching the deer were magical. Every amenity was provided. The kitchen was stocked with every dish, pan, and gadget you could possibly need. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern (although there's only one and it is downstairs). The open concept living/dining area was great. We were able to spend a rainy evening sitting on the comfortable leather couch in front of a roaring fire in the stone fireplace while watching a movie on the TV/DVD. Cape Hill Cottage is close to Crescent and Rissers Beach. We walked the beaches two, sometimes three times a day. Beautiful! Also, Joe lives just down the road and provides the best private sea kayak tours around. He's so friendly and knowledgeable and the up close views of sea and bird life are amazing. Up on a hill, away from the road, the cottage is very quiet and private. What peaceful sleeping! One of the owners, Bruce, was very attentive and asked frequently if there was anything missing from the cottage that we needed (there wasn't). It's a bit of a drive (about 25 minutes) to the nearest town (Bridgewater) with stores/restaurants/groceries/movies. But, if you stock up on food and plan on cooking/eating mostly at the cottage, you'll be all set. We will surely be back. What a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature at its best! -Claire and Eric
