The Beverly Center or The Grove shopping Center is where you go to shop till you drop or Rodeo drive is only moments away by car as is the famed world famous Sunset Strip whether it be The Comedy Store, or The Whiskey a Go Go. Two major super markets are located on the same block as well as many other fine eateries.
There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a blowup air-bed that can accommodate two more people
History:
The owners purchased this charming building in 1994 after a major earthquake and renovated it top to bottom. Karen was the star of a well known kids television show called “Zooblee Zoo” with Ben Vareen and I was a successful Beverly Hills Realtor. The building was in disrepair when we found it and it was being marketed as a “tear Down”. We disagreed. It had an incredible location and “good bones” and we both agreed it had great potential and it became a labor of love, as well as an endless money pit. But in the end it was worth it. We put in fireplaces, beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, heating and air conditioning , new plumbing, fountains, fences, lighting, shutters, window boxes, antique stoves, dishwashers, the works! We left the original old frosty refrigerators to give it a feeling of it’s original style with some modern day conveniences and old world charm.
This whole concept started when I received a call from a dear friend of ours asked us if we had any vacancies in any our buildings. I told her we had one. She proceeded to tell me that she had an actor and his dog coming in town to do a movie and that he needed a place for three months but it needed to be furnished. I asked who it was. When she told me his name I pretended to know who it was when I really had no idea who he was. I admit I had not heard of him at the time. I told her to tell him to call me for an appointment. This person came over to look at our home and told me that if we could make the vacant place look like ours, he would take it site unseen. My wife ran around all weekend long, including down to Tamecula, California - shopping for furniture and antiques and somehow managed to throw the apartment together. I mean “Soup to Nuts”. Literally. Now that I think back we had a pot of hot soup on the stove, as well as a dish of pistachios on the counter.
