Welcome to Hale O Ka Lama, the house of much light where you will welcome the beautiful sun rise and warm, sun filled skies of Kapoho where this beautifully remodeled home is located.

Hale O Ka Lama is just a short 5 minute stroll to the wonderful Wai Opae Marine Sanctuary tidal pools where swimming and snorkeling for your vacation should be a daily occurrence. Hale O Ka Lama which sleeps 2 – 6 comfortably totally embraces our entire indoor/outdoor lifestyle that we live here on the east side of the Big Island. Even though the interior of the home is beautifully decorated, you will also want to spend a good deal of time on the covered and screened in lanai and gorgeous deck overlooking the landscaped back yard. Mai Tai’s anyone?

The kitchen is modern and updated and you can either dine indoors at the beautiful dining table or outdoors on the deck. The private master bedroom with its California King bed is on the 3rd level with its own en suite bath. The other 2 bedrooms with queen beds and full bath are conveniently located on the 2nd level off the main living area.

If you are traveling with a larger group, we also have 2 other vacation rental homes a few doors down from Hale O Ka Lama. How wonderful for everyone to have their own space and still be close to each other!

Great Location, Wonderful Management and Family Friendly House and Vacation Spot

We Stayed at this home for a week from March 18-25 and absolutely enjoyed it! The home was beautiful and clean. I was worried about the stair access and the kids playing on the lanai when I booked the house, but the lanai is fully enclosed with screens and two locked doors, so if you have small ones like me, they cannot access the exterior stairs when playing out there if the doors are closed.

The great thing about this house was the management. Extremely responsive to problems and a caretaker lives a few houses away so was able to address any problems or questions we had (Microwave was broken and replaced within 24 hours). Some info that may be helpful to travelers: The house comes with long distance phone calling and wireless because there is very spotty wireless service out in Kapoho--Verizon has no service and AT&T one bar. So when booking in this area, make sure the rental is like this one with wifi internet and long distance calling-if that is important.

The house itself was fully stocked with a roll of paper towels, a few rolls of toilet paper, full size bar of soap and dish washing liquid, dishwashing detergent and laundry detergent. The yard was wonderfully enclosed.

The house was walking distance (very close-my 2 year old could walk it) to the tidepools. We just loved our stay and look forward to coming back in the future!

This home is fully stocked, no need for anything, everything is new! Very clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location. Very quiet neighborhood, ocean view from the Master Bedroom upstairs and from the deck below. There is a gate at the driveway to keep kids in if necessary.
The location is convenient to local sites as well as restaurants and shopping.
We would love to rent this home again.
Snorkel in the Wai Opae tide pools, near Champagne Pond, Lava Tree State Park, Volcano's National Park, take a trip all the way down the Red Road for numerous sites and activities. At the very end of the road is a cafe and a short walk to a black sand beach.
