A spectacular get-away

Our stay at Kingfisher Cottage was perfect in every way for our party of four adults. The views were spectacular and the home was even nicer than the pictures show. Tasteful, clean, modern, perfectly appointed (thanks for the good garlic press), and technologically equipped to handle all of our mobile devices...we even reviewed our photos on the big screen TV. The starfish at low tide were huge and so colorful and sitting on the decks just soaking in the views became a hobby.

We discovered an amazing Saturday Farmers Market right down the road where we met wonderful people, tasted and purchased home made cheeses and stocked up on delicious breads and organic fruits and vegetables. Sooke Harbor House is worth a dinner trip..be sure and explore the gardens as well. And a hike on the spit in the harbor is well worth it. Victoria is close enough for good day excursions but one could be happy just enjoying the quiet beauty of Sooke. Our original plan for vacation was to the Florida Panhandle just when Hurricane Isaac was scheduled to arrive so we were delighted to find such a spectacular alternative and would definitely love to return again.

Fantastic Getaway

We stayed at Kingfisher for 4 nights for a family wedding in Sooke, and loved it. The cottage is in immaculate condition, and very well appointed. But best of all the view across Sooke Basin is fabulous, and being right on the water got to enjoy a lot of wildlife, deer, otter, and seals, aside from the birds. We spent hours on the deck just enjoying this tranquil setting. Heartily recommend this cottage for a couple or a small family.
Thanks especially to Donna who was extremely helpful (such as organising a crib for our daughter), it made our visit that much more enjoyable.

The cabin is well-maintained, lovely and comfortable, with all needed amenities, a grassy front garden and a back deck with incredible views of Sooke Basin. We had a relaxing vacation, using the dock for launching our stand-up paddleboard and watching the local wildlife - a harbor seal visited us everyday, as well as eagles, otters, hummingbirds, geese, deer, not to mention the incredible ocean life. Great hikes are located close buy, including a beautiful hike through the forest to Iron Mine Bay. The house is set in a quiet and secluded little community in East Sooke, just what we needed. We will definitely come again!

Great Vacation, Beautiful Cottage!

My wife and I just returned from 4 nights at the Kingfisher Cottage and it was absolutely beautiful. The owners even left us a card and a bottle of wine to congratulate us on our anniversary that we were celebrating for our stay. The cottage it clean, and has everything you would want or need, and then some. Great views, right on the water. Everything was easy and worry free. We cannot wait until we can make it there again. Also, try the 17 mile pub up the street, everyone there, and at the liquor store in the same parking lot were really nice and the food and drinks were great. Can't wait to get back to BC!!!
