The apartment:

Is stylishly furnished with all the comforts of home, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day; watch a movie, enjoy a glass of wine or entertain family or friends in the 950sq ft space inside or the private outdoor BBQ area, It is the perfect inner city retreat.

The building:

The Harrison Modern has 4 wonderful apartments to offer in a, well designed, refurbished, Mid-Century building. For your privacy each unit has a separate entrance; 1111 – 1117 E. Harrison Street. I have lived in the building for 15 years and the neighborhood for 17, I would be happy to give you a local perspective on sightseeing or dining in the neighborhood during your stay.

The location:

Capitol Hill is one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, with wonderful stately homes, parks, museums, shopping, restaurants, theaters and other attractions all within a short walk from the property.

We have a fantastic location in the heart of this historic neighborhood, within 3 minutes walk you will find a variety of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and 3 supermarkets

We are on the same street as Seattle University and a 5 minute walk from the Pike/Pine Corridor bars, cafes & nightlife. Downtown Seattle is 1 mile from the building as is the Washington State Trade & Convention Center, and the Hospitals on First Hill. The Pike Place Market and the Seattle Space Needle are also easily accessed either on foot or by the extensive bus network that passes 2 blocks from the building on the eclectic Broadway Shopping street. You will LOVE the location!!

After staying at many Vacation Rental Properties over the past 6 years I am confident you will thoroughly enjoy your stay with us. I have painstakingly created a retreat that is both functional and stylish. This apartment features the following:

About Ian Petry

I have owned and lived in the Harrison Modern since 1997. I have a passion for architecture and interior design, you will see this in every aspect of the building. Originally born in New Zealand, I have traveled the world and the US extensively, I believe that Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. My back ground is in Tourism Marketing, I worked for the New Zealand Tourism Board in Los Angles for 8 years before moving to Seattle in 1994. I have a love of travel and new experiences - Whenever I away I always stay at vacation apartments, as you get a real feel for the destination you are visiting.

Seattle is a vibrant city full of amazing sights from world class architecture, vibrant arts scene, to spectacular outdoor activities. Capitol Hill, is the perfect location to explore all Seattle and everything the region has to offer. If you are not traveling outside the city you won't need a car, everything is within an easy walk or a short bus ride. Within 3 short blocks of the building are a a number of great restaurants, shops and cafes, 2 supermarkets and 3 wonderful city parks. Capitol Hill is a rich, diverse, neighborhood with multi million mansions and a wonderful farmers market within blocks of each other. One thing I am sure about... You will love the location. I have done a lot of traveling and believe that Seattle and the Pacific North West is one of the most beautiful, livable, areas in the North America.

Location, Location, Location... Capitol Hill is the most convenient neighborhood to downtown Seattle. from our building it is a lovely 15-20 minute walk to downtown. The building is super stylish, all the apartments are large and individually furnished in keeping with the mid-century contemporary theme. Comfort, convenience, and style are what you will find when you stay at the Harrison Modern.

A wonderful location and a great apartment. Many restaurants are a short walk away, and a longer walk to downtown Seattle. Lots of space in this clean apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. It was in a great location on a quiet residential street. It was roomy and comfortable. The King sized bed was a plus and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and very large. The washer and dryer and dish washer are all high end appliances and easy to use. The couches are comfortable. There are two units upstairs and 1 unit next door. We never heard any noise from the neighbors. The owner responded to all my inquiries in a timely manner. We would stay here again. The only thing that I noticed was that the wooden floor in the bedroom was a little worn and it was noisy when you walked on it. It was difficult to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without disturbing others.

Great location! Cute apartment!

We stayed here for a few days with our family with a toddler. It was in a great location. We walked daily to a park around the corner, a great coffee shop and some delicious restaurants! The apartment is clean and decorated nice and modern. The large king bed is super big and comfy. There's a good sized back patio which would be awesome on a warm day.

The owner was easy to deal with and returned our deposit right away!

The laundry room is shared and you can't do laundry between 10am and 12pm which was a little inconvenient having small kids but I would suggest calling the owner and asking if the house cleaners are coming that day because if not, you can probably use the laundry at that time.

We will definitely be back to this apartment! Loved it!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your great review. As you pointed out we ask guests not to use the complimentary laundry facilities between 10am and 12noon to enable the housekeeper to clean the apartments. If the housekeeper is not there during those hours guests are more than welcome to use the facilities. We have an amazing new "top of the line" steam washer that can complete a speed wash in 15 minutes!! We LOVE it. We also have two dryers available.

Fantastic Apartment & Great Location!

My husband and I stayed here with our 13 month old daughter while visiting family. The apartment was so cute and was centrally located to everything we wanted to do in Capitol Hill. There was more than enough space for us all to be comfortable. And the back patio was so cute! If only the weather had been warmer - we would have definitely spent more time out there. We will certainly stay here again next time we're in town!

Fantastic location, great apartment and easy to work with owners

I had friends coming over from England and we put them up at the Harrison Modern. They loved the apartment. Perfect location in Seattle for a vacation or for a business trip. Walking distance to great restaurants and food stores. Owners are very easy to work with as they helped me figure out which property would best fit our needs. I can't imagine recommending anywhere but the Harrison Modern for a trip to Seattle.

I really enjoyed my trip to Seattle and stayed in the Garden Suite. Everything is as described and better. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable. The location is great and I really enjoyed walking around Seattle. I would love to visit again. My only suggestion is to add blinds to the kitchen/dining room windows. During the day the natural light is great but in the evening I felt privacy a little lacking. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. Thanks for the accommodations Ian!
