The Bungalow is an attractively furnished, one storey, stone house located only 100m from the main beach of Stoupa. It is situated in a 1900 sq. meter garden, together with Villa Sofia, thus affording quiet and privacy while in the center of the village. The Bungalow has a spacious living room with a charming fire place, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a covered veranda off the kitchen. There is a beautifully laid flagstone patio on 2 sides of the house towards the south and west. Because it is very private, it is ideal for alfresco dining, as well as offering a safe play area for children. The house has been built in the local style using stone walls and a tile roof. It has a very nice, cosy atmosphere. The Bungalow is also available for long term rental from October through April. SPECIAL NOTE: For sailors, a sun fish sailboat is available for use.

Stoupa is a coastal village in the unspoiled Mani region. The village is built around three bays, two of which have sand beaches that are among the most beautiful on the Mani Peninsula. They are well suited for families because of the shallow waters near the shore. The third bay has a pebble beach, and is ideal for snorkeling. The village is set amongst olive groves with the Taygetos Mountains rising to the east. The climate is mild in winter, possibly the warmest in continental Europe. Stoupa is within easy reach of a 24 hour medical centre (2 km), and one hour from the major city of Kalamata.

About the Mani-Region: The Mani region of Greece lies in the southernmost part of the Peloponnese. Starting at Kalamata, it follows the Taygetos mountain range south to Cape Tenaron. Combining picturesque mountain villages with their stone tower-houses and lovely seaside villages, the Mani is a place of extraordinary beauty. From the wall of Verga, just south of the modern city of Kalamata, to villages of traditional Mani Fighting Towers in the southern end of the peninsula, the Mani is a region where the past and present coexist in close proximity. Scant kilometers from fishing villages with modern hotels, restaurants and internet cafes catering to summer tourists lie beautiful mountain villages, nestled amid olive groves, that have changed little in the last hundred years. While a popular spring and summer destination for European and American travelers, the Mani is untouched by the commercial mass-tourism industry.

EXCURSIONS: Stoupa is in the middle of a very beautiful area. Along the coast, there are several other charming villages to visit, (Kardimili, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Dimitrios, and Trachila). Each is unique and all are well worth a visit. There is a paved path along the coastline between Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos. It is specifically for either pedestrian or bicycle use, and is about 2 km in length. It offers wonderful sea views with a mountain background. In a distance from 4-18 km. from Stoupa, there are lovely mountain villages to explore that take you back in time to 50 years ago. Most of them have a small taverna or two where you can stop and enjoy dishes prepared with local products. There are two separate loops that can be driven. Each of them passes through several villages and you can take anywhere from one hour to all day to complete your journey.
