What can I say about a perfect house, a wonderful quiet stay, and excellent accomodations? It was delightful, everything was great. We put up a Christmas tree, since family was coming to celebrate Christmas Day with us, and it made the house sooo cozy!
We had 4 holiday dinners and 2 holiday breakfasts and everyone fit (10 guests including ourselves) and also loved the house. I know when you are on vacation most people eat out, but we wanted to be the "home base" for our kids when they could fit in a visit between their obligations, holiday festivities, and soccer camp. So we cooked and baked and prepared lots of food. Having the dishwasher was truly a bonus.
We cooked a turkey and then found out there were no knives in the kitchen, my only complaint, but a quick call to my son produced his ample collection.
The beds were too comfortable-often we found ourselves sleeping past 9am and slowly dragged ourselves up to have coffee at the bar in the kitchen.
The Christmas carolers that showed up at the front door about an hour after we arrived were a special treat, my husband said the owner ordered them just for us. New Year's Eve was exciting with spectacular fireworks which we watched standing on the back porch and listening to "Auld Lang Syne" from the band playing at an event down the street.
We can't wait to come back!!!!! We arrived 12/23/11 and stayed until New Years Day.
