Fantastic location and on the NYC/DC Amtrak line: The Armitage HdG in Havre de Grace is a 90 minutes car drive to DuPont Circle in Washington DC or, if you prefer Amtrak, a 10 minute drive to the Aberdeen station servicing NYC Penn station, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Wilmington

No need for a car!

I was part of a group of 6 college girlfriends meeting up for a girls weekend in Havre De Grace. We picked the location to be equidistant for most of us (travelled from DC, Baltimore, Philly, Lancaster) and the house was very easy to find. It was very clean with beautiful architecture. The location was perfect to walk to downtown and the bay side of town. There is a 7-eleven within walking distance, but not a grocery store. We were well supplied with nice wine from the wine bistro and take out food from many of the excellent restaurants. The house slept 6 comfortably (with some sharing beds), but if more privacy is desired, bring an inflatable bed and bedding for the spare room (which is a home office).

The downtown is a bit sleepy, but we weren't looking to go out dancing or clubbing!

September at the Armitage HdG in Havre de Grace MD

Submitted: September 23, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
The Armitage HdG is lovely restored home with great amenities. Having visited in September, the large covered front porch was especailly enjoyable for morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine. The description of the rooms was right on but did not do justice to the comfort of the beds. The home was entirely ready for arival with lights, ceiling fans and air conditioning on to greet us. The kitchen was well equipped and pleasant to use. Off street parking for two vehicles was welcome although on street parking was easy and available. The house was a few blocks from the downtown area which had enjoyable shops. Havre de Grace had a couple of lovely museums (HDG Maritime Museum and HDG Decoy Museum) that were superb. We had dinner at both The Bayou Restaurant and MacGregor's Restaurant and Tavern in HDG. We enjoyed seafood at both establishments. The Town of Havre de Grace itself was charming and served as a great base for day trips to Philadelphia to Washington and points between. The visit was for far flung family from Connecticut, Iowa and Wisconsin to get together and enjoy time together and to enjoy the area.

Lovely and comfortable home! Could not have asked for anything more while in town to watch our children play baseball at Cal Ripken. If in the area make sure to eat at Price's and go parasailing at Old Town on the River.

Golf Vacation

5 of 5
Submitted: July 21, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
This is a beautiful vacation home located in the heart of Havre De Grace. Great golf courses close by within a 5-15 minute drive. The owner of the property was very accommodating (allowed one extra person) and gave us some recommendations for food/night out. The place was spotless and welcoming when we arrived. If we wanted to cook our own food at the guesthouse, the kitchen had all the necessary appliances and utencils to prepare meals and the place was nice enough to just stay in and enjoy our vacation with very close friends without having to go out. However, this house was a very short walk to the great restaurants in the small town of HDG. There were a few places we visited during the weekend for drinks and dinner.

We had a triple digit heatwave (heat advisory/warning) during our visit so walking (even at night) weren't an option. We drove to the restaurants and the local bars.

We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys visiting HDG. This was our first visit to HDG and it was primarily to play golf and visit some local restaurants for meals/drinks.

This house is absolutely beautiful, warm, inviting. It was a perfect place for family coming in to town for a wedding. It was so easy to work with the owners as well. I would rent this again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for a great weekend!!!
