We couldn't get over how perfect this home is...

Koru Lodge is by far, the most lovely vacation home we’ve been to. While we didn’t have the pleasure to meet the owners personally, our communications via email have been extremely personable and helpful.
The home itself, felt like a home and NOT a rental. The furnishings and amenities are well appointed and during our four day stay, we lacked for not one thing aside from snow-bibs and snow boots, which we rented nearby at Alpaca Pete’s on HWY 50 into Tahoe.
The interior of the house is beautiful and comfortably decorated so that we felt spoiled, yet we didn’t feel “out of our league” in an ostentatious way. The kitchen is well equipped with every possible cooking and bake ware item, and more than enough serving and dinner-ware. There was a coffee maker, coffee grinder, salad spinner, salad chopper, and even coffee-to-go-with-lid cups. I appreciated being able to cook on a gas stove again!
Our family of 6 was VERY comfortable in this large, 3 bedroom plus 1 loft home. We were looking for a children’s snow experience vs. a “skiing experience” and so for us, the location was perfect. This luxury home is located just south of South Lake Tahoe, and its’ back yard is adjacent to the National Forrest, i.e. lots and lots of pine trees. Not far away was a small, but steep hill, perfect for sledding. But, primarily, most of our time was spent in the back yard, which is enormous, building forts, building snowmen and having snow fights.
During our down time, we were able to have the luxury of 4 different televisions, DVD player, pool table dual-headed shower and hot tub at our disposal. When we were confined to the house due to heavy snow, the views out of the windows of this home were mesmerizing. I did have to work while on our vacation, and connection to the internet was a breeze and the kitchen is equipped with a convenient and good-sized desk. Our children really enjoyed the loft area!
I, myself, grew up in *small town* South Dakota. The location of this home, and the friendliness and generosity of the local community, made me almost feel like I was home again.
When we go back up to Tahoe again, this is where we will stay. End of story.
