Enjoy hiking, sledding & cross-country skiing right out your back door

This newly rebuilt luxury home sits adjacent to miles of National Forest with stunning views. It offers the warmth and tranquility you and your loved ones have been looking for. Enjoy the comforts of a romantic home where you can sit in front of the fire and just gaze for hours enjoying the epic views. There is 2200 square feet of living space with the living room opening onto a 25x25 square foot deck to enjoy your morning coffee or during the evening where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sun setting over the mountains. The jacuzzi on the deck offers mood lights and music at your beck and call. Stairs lead down from the deck into a large fenced yard where you will find gates that take you into the National Forest. The Great Room features large windows where you can relax and enjoy the sun light, cozy up and read a good book or just sit and become mesmerized by the magnificent setting. These are the days that create memories which last a lifetime.

The full kitchen at Koru Lodge faces views to the front of the home, a dining table which seats 8 and a granite island which faces the great room and the pool table. There are two bedrooms upstairs on the main living floor with one bathroom. One bedroom has a California King bed with a private deck which faces West to the National Forest and has a LCD TV. The second bedroom has a queen size bed with a LCD TV. The loft is off the main floor living where you will be able to view the stars as you fall into a deep slumber in your cozy queen size bed. The bathroom on the main living area is next to the master bedroom and has a two person slate shower and a double sink. The second bathroom is downstairs down the hall from the inviting 3rd bedroom. This bedroom has a queen size bed with a LCD TV. The bathroom downstairs has access to the laundry room, lower deck and to the back yard. This bathroom has a shower/bathtub combo and a double sink.

Each bed is outfitted with new furnishings and 600 count sheets.

Outside the gates of this incredible home is miles and miles of exploring for you and your family. Only a one mile hike away is Seneca Pond and if you are up for more of an adventure you can hike to Angora Lake which takes 2-3 hours round trip. During the winter you can cross country ski, snow shoe or go snowmobiling by just stepping out your back door. Heavenly Ski Resort, the casinos and Sierra At Tahoe Ski Resort are all 15 minute drives. The home is only 8 minutes to the Y downtown shopping, Meyers restaurants, grocery store, golf courses and the Tahoe Airport.

If you must work, bring your laptop as we have wireless access.

We have sleds and snowshoes available for you to enjoy during the winter season.

There is a two car garage and the driveway can park a large recreational vehicle or a boat.

Wonderful House

Great house, great layout, recently updated/remodeled in every way, very comfortable beds. It edges forest land, with great snowshoeing and hiking right out of the back door. I also really enjoyed the location, which felt remote, yet only 20 minutes from the casinos in South Lake Tahoe. House manager was extremely responsive and the house was clean and well taken care of. Couldn't have hoped for a better house to rent for vacation.

Great home in a beautiful setting

My family and I had the privilege of staying here for 3 nights. The house is located in a beautiful location with views of the mountains and forest. It is close to a grocery store which I found to be very important if you're planning on cooking. It is very well stocked with all the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom amenities you may need. The drive to Sierra or Heavenly resorts is under 30 minutes and sledding is walking distance with no crowds!
We would highly recommend this house and look forward to staying there again!

Amazing!!

I am extemely picky when it comes to my vacation lodging. I had reservations at another house until I saw this house online and changed our plans. I am so happy I did. This house is just super nice and very comfortable. It really gives you that lodge feel. Nicely upgraded kitchen with all the supplies and utensils you would need for a large family. The beds were super comfortable. The bathrooms were beautiful with slate tile and multiple shower heads. My kids loved the loft and pool table. The house backs up to the National Forest where my kids played in the snow with the sleds provided by owners.

The house is in a very nice part of Lake Tahoe. The drive there from west California is beautiful. Although we chose to ski at Kirkwood, which was not a bad drive at all, the house is very close to Sierra Ski Resort and Heavenly.

The owners were great from the beginning. We did have a small issue with the fireplace and it was fixed immediately. Cathy has always been responsive with calls or emails.

The pics do not lie. If you are considering this property, do it! The only issue with my glowing review is I will have a harder time getting availability when we want to come back after everyone books it! Enjoy!

This house is amazing!! The views are incredible! The house is conveniently located near skiing, snowmobiling, restaurants, etc. This was our first trip to Tahoe and we will definately stay at this house again. The owner provided recommendations for activities and restaurants which were really helpful. You'll love this house!!

We loved our recent stay here. It was the perfect location for skiing and very close to the lake. Gorgeous mountain views from the windows in the house with sledding within walking distance. The house was gorgeous with attention to details. We would love to stay here again. The owner of the house was also very friendly and helpful making the stay even more enjoyable. You can't go wrong with choosing this home.
