Newly renovated! A very nicely furnished, 1 bedroom (King) cottage and an additional Queen bed with on Oahu’s North Shore. The cottage is 1000 feet (.2 miles) from Sunset Beach and is a short walk or bike ride to Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay and Shark’s Cove. The cottage is 40 minutes to downtown Honolulu and Waikiki.
Features include very private, outdoor living, dining areas, gas grill, hammock, lounge chairs and beach amenities. This is a serene, detached cottage on a lush 1 acre lot with fruit trees, orchids, and more.
Yuki knows how to do it right! Her rental cottage is where it's at! This beautiful place is in the perfect spot! Right down the road from Sunset Beach, and on a wonderful piece of land that leaves you feeling like you've escaped from reality.
We live on island and were just looking to get away on a little stay-cation for my husbands birthday, and man did I pick the ultimate place! The king size bed in the back is ever-so comfy, and the shower is a wonder stand up, with much room to spare. The living room furniture is down-filled, leaving it so you don't even want to move :) The kitchen has everything you'd need for your stay, except a cookie sheet (of which I found myself needing.) Laundry is off to the side, out of the way, and doesn't make much noise at all! One of my favorite parts is that most of the rental is windows and doors, so the breeze is amazing and you will never get hot!
Outside you have room for whatever pleases you. The grill is fantastic as well as the outdoor furniture. Plenty of space to park, bikes for use, and a beautiful view at all times during the day. My husband was very happy with this surprise stay.
The pictures on here are a little different. Things have been moved around just a little bit. Such as, the bed is in a different place and some of the wall fixtures aren't the same anymore. Nothing huge. One of the screen doors, second one on the right after entering, is broken on the bottom and there was a cat that wanted to come in all the time, so I just kept it closed... again no biggie.
All in all, we will absolutely be returning! This place is hands-down remarkably beautiful and will leave you with a lasting impression!
While you're there- try Banzai Sushi (one of our favorites), the Saturday market at the school down the road (awesome caramels), riding on the bike path down to 3 tables for the afternoon, an definitely paddle boarding the canal. What a great stay! I hope you enjoy yours!!! You will not be let down... it is perfect!
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Cottage for one week in February 2015 and had one of the best holidays of our lives. The cottage was everything we had hoped for and much more. It was quiet, private and left us with a feeling of what it would be like to live on the North Shore. The 2 bikes that were free to use gave us so much freedom to explore the coastline along the bike path. Yuki was the perfect manager, being available if we needed her without cramping our privacy. We would recommend to both family and friends and are already talking about booking for next year. Our only feedback would be to add an outdoor shower and somewhere to hang wetsuits or beach gear. Maholo Yuki for an amazing holiday!!
We stayed at The Cottage for the first part of our honeymoon. We did a lot of research prior to booking and decided that this would be the most bang for our money in comparison to the pricey hotels on Oahu, which are mostly in busy Waikiki, Honolulu. We wanted to get away from the world and just have peace and quiet in a beautiful place where we would not have to deal with any drama or people.
The cottage was perfect for us. It does not have super high end things but we were not looking for that. We had everything we needed- full kitchen with all necessary cookware , cable tv & dvd player (we watched the premier of The Walking Dead on our first night there- it was awesome), comfortable furnishings, fresh linens, and even extra large beach towels. I am extremely picky and usually look for places that are clean and have a modern/contemporary look and amenities and this was my top choice- we got lucky there was availability. The place is very very private with many large windows that let the air through. There's no A/C but it was not a problem for us since there are plenty of ceiling fans all over and we went in October, not sure how it'd be in the summer time. There are beautiful wood furniture pieces, soft and pretty bed covers (I hate ugly bed covers), and amazing, well-kept natural surroundings. The owner, Yuki, truly has very good taste in design. I felt as if I was in a romantic movie. I loved waking up to the roosters crowing and baby chickens chirping around the property and falling asleep to the sounds of rain falling on the surrounding vegetation, roof, and outside deck.
The place is just walk from the AMAZING Sunset Beach, but we rented a small SUV so we drove to many places and did not mind that. There are also bikes on the property to borrow and get around. The street leading to the location is quite bumpy and the concrete parking pad is down a very steep hill- it was a bit scary for me driving in and out but we never had any issues. There's also a remote to open the parking gate for convenience. You might struggle with the drive if you're not driving a well powered vehicle, but Yuki lets you park up top if you want. By the way, the area is very safe and pretty. The Cottage is a drive from the busier areas but we knew that and actually wanted to be away from the touristy sides. We loved eating on the North Shore at Luibueno's Mexican & Latin Cuisine, probably a 15 minute drive (best paella I've ever had), we also had great sushi around there
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was so peaceful. The geckos and the chickens added to the beauty of our stay. We could hear the waves at night and enjoy the tropical breezes. It was a short walk to the beach or a short drive. Would definitely stay here again!
We are a family of 4 (boys 3 & 5) and are big surf watchers. A little bragging first off, we nailed seeing the biggest waves the North Shore has seen in recent history so the rest was just gravy!! Yuki's place is great and perfect for young kids (stash away the vase on the table of course). With a kitchen, washer/dryer and great secured/fenced property, you've got nothing to worry about. Very private and quiet (minus the Roosters here and there), you'll be able to sleep or nap after hitting the beaches, waves, hikes, bikes or whatever else you're into. They boys chased chickens, collected snails and watched the geckos whenever we were at the house. The bikes are an awesome addition so just rent the bike trailer for kids from Sharks Cove Bike Rentals for a few days and you're in business like we were. We peddled everywhere (N. Shore beaches, Ted's Bakery, Food Land, Waimea Bay) on the great bike path all along Kamehameha Hwy. The house has a great location and is very well kept and stocked with clean towels including beach towels.
All in all, you won't be disappointed with this property or it's location!
Our family of 5 had the BEST time ever here in Yuki's gorgeous little beach house. The pictures are accurate, the place is super private. There are 2 beach cruisers that you can use to go down to the beach or you could walk to the beach easy. It's 4 km away from Foodland for all your supplies. We ate a lot of the time from all the awesome food trucks , but we did cook a few meals and the kitchen is super functional. I recommend a car to stay here but it's not really necessary as there is a local bus that you can travel around the whole island on! The backyard was a bonus too as my 3 boys played a lot outside!
We stayed here for 5 nights then were off up the road to Turtle Bay resort, and while quite luxurious, it just did not compare to Yuki's ' s beach house. So I gave her a call and she let us stay for a further 4 nights! Super clean and just really something special. We cannot wait until we come back next year and stay. Thanks so much Yuki :-)
The Cottage is across from world-famous Sunset Beach, an excellent location for world class surfing, snorkeling and diving.
The property is .2 miles to Sunset Beach and the bike path. Located in a prime location near all famous surf breaks. Take a bike ride to Waimea Falls for nature-lovers. There is plenty of sea turtle and whale watching available for your enjoyment. Nearby facilities provide horseback-riding, boating, sailing and flying.
