Located in historic Fort Greene, Brooklyn this large and comfortable apartment is centrally located to everything that makes this one of the most charming neighborhoods in New York City. Within blocks of the internationally renown Brooklyn Academy of Music, home of The Next Wave Festival, including the Harvey Theater and the Rose Cinema (a complex of four movie theaters inside the Academy's main building), Long Island University and Hospital, and Pratt Institute in the opposite direction. Fort Greene is also proud to be the home of the Mark Morris Dance Group. The apartment itself is on the ground floor of a brick Italianate townhouse on a tree-lined Landmarked block, built before the American Civil War in 1859. You will enter through a private entrance into a large, open living room, dining room and kitchen.
Former president of the local neighborhood community organization the Fort Greene Association. I wish you a pleasant stay.
Paul Palazzo purchased this apartment in 1998
Fort Greene Garden in the heart of Fort Greeen Brooklyn which is the most vibrant and friendly neighborhood in all of New York City. You can have the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and then come home to your own quiet retreat of friendly restaurants, bars, cultural institutions, and street life. Don't just visit New York but make friends in Fort Greene.
Roll out of bed to your corner bistro and if that doesn't suit you visit the Farmer's Market or Brooklyn Flea on Saturday. Stroll down our tree covered streets and stop into one of our friendly shops and restaurants.
The pictures just don't do this apartment justice. The place is just amazing inside. Well designed, well furnished and just chalked full of style. The owners certainly didn't skimp on amenities. From the thick and fluffy white towels to the great quilts and down comforters. Even the bathroom fixtures are amazing. There is plenty of room for storage in the closets and just every little thing you need is there as if you were home. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking utensils you'd need and some you didn't know you needed. This Fort Greene apartment is close to quaint places to dine, grocery stores, laundromats and parks to relax in. The owners are so helpful when it comes to recommending things in the area from restaurants to taxi services (which we appreciated greatly - Myrtle's was perfect!). Paul and Allen were available for questions and never hesitated to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. I highly recommend Fort Greene Garden to anyone planning to stay in New York. If you want a place that's not in the hub of Manhattan, but close enough to get there with just a taxi or subway ride away Fort Greene Garden is the place for you. You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your amazing place! It was truly our home away from home!
This is a lovely and cozy apartment in a wonderful location. It is near a subway station. The beds were super comfy and the furnishings were lovely. My daughter and daughter in law and I stayed here Feb. 25 to March 2, 2015 and enjoyed every minute. I learned how to use Uber and HubGrub! Paul was so very helpful as was Allen. We were allowed to stay a few extra hours past check out due to our late flight. We appreciated that very much. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again when I come back. I would absolutely recommend this apartment!!!
The apartment is well laid out, spacious, clean and well appointed. It was perfect for our family Thanksgiving gathering. Wonderful area of Brooklyn, close to subway, restaurants, shopping and parks. Would highly recommend staying at Ft. Greene Garden!
The description of the property at Fort Greene is accurate, the layout is spacious and warm ( we stayed in winter). The kitchen is well appointed. We should mention this is our second stay here as a family of four and with two double beds, a spacious bathroom, there is plenty of room and accommodates four easily. This time around we met one of the owners who was very helpful, nothing was too much bother, although we didn't have anything to complain about. We would absolutely recommend this property if you want to stay and experience NYC without the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Fort Greene is a great base to explore Brooklyn, Dumbo and also catch the subway at Lafayette Avenue into Manhattan. If you want a good cup of coffee, visit the Hungry Ghost Cafe just around the corner. There are fabulous shops and restaurants, all nearby. Explore Dumbo, another good coffee shop, Brooklyn Roasting Company. There is a large supermarket about 8 minutes walk at the Barclay Centre called Pathmark. A couple of good restaurants to recommend, if you want some soul food, Pink Tea Cup Lafayette Avenue Brooklyn. A good French restaurant Chez Oskar, Dekalb Avenue Brooklyn.
Beautiful apartment, clean, stylish and super comfortable. Have stayed in Manhattan on 4 occasions, but Brooklyn was immeasurably better for our 3 generations sharing and I will always try and book Paul's wonderful apartment in future. Thanks so much
This was our second visit to this apartment in Brooklyn, and it feels like a home away from home. (Our daughter lives a couple of blocks away). Extremely well-appointed, immaculate, close to convenient subway stops (it's also easy to use the train to get to & from JFK). Nice restaurants nearby, also the beautiful Fort Greene Park, the Saturday farmer's market, the Saturday flea market, the Barclay Center for performances. It's on a lovely, safe street. The owner lives right above the apartment and is available should you need anything or have any questions. We love coming here.
