Why Choose Cabarete?: If you are a sports enthusiast, you will love windsurfing or kite boarding in the Cabarete Bay. Each year, in June, Cabarete hosts the world championships for kite boarding. If you haven’t tried it before, there are excellent schools right next door that will have you on the water in no time. There is plenty other things to do with world class golfing just 40 minutes away (Playa Grande, Playa Dorado), casinos, mountain biking, surfing, and scuba diving to name a few. You can even learn to dance the Merengue, Salsa and Bachata at the dance school.

Why Choose US? : There are lots of condominiums for rent these days, but we will make sure you get the best service possible. Others use rental management companies, but that is not true with us. We live here full time and are available to take care of any problems or needs. We start by personally inspecting the apartment prior to your arrival and will make sure everything is cleaned to the highest standards. We stock it with starter packets of soap, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper and washer detergent. There is also hot/cold water dispenser with 2 5-gallon bottles & a bag of ice to get you started. Next you are welcomed with a basket of local treats to enjoy while you read through our renters guide with all the information needed to get around our condo, Ocean Dream Resort and our beautiful island. You will find contact information for our favorite restaurants, stores, taxi drivers and more. We work hard to give you everything you need to make your visit as enjoyable as possible!

Casa Amber, Jewel in Cabarete

How to begin? My partner and I have traveled all over the caribbean and have to say that Cabarete has stolen our heart. Staying at Casa Amber was a treat! Pat and Bob were the most gracious host anyone could imagine. The condo was immaculately clean and had beautiful furnishings. The well appointed kitchen almost made me cook dinners at home, but the downtown restaurants which were less than a ten minute walk on the beach lured us in every night. Our favorite restaurant was Onnno's which had good food, great bar, the best dance music after dinner hours and supurb staff. The refreshing pool, just outside the balcony, made catching up on a few sunrays or swimming in the cool water as easy as walking down a flight of stairs. There were 2 televisions in the condo, but we chose not to turn them on, after all, we were on vacation. However, we did listen to the stereo in the livingroom. When we were in the condo, we spent most of our time sitting on the covered balcony overlooking the pool and sipped on tropical drinks that we made ourselves in the wonderful kitchen. Thank you again Pat and Bob. We will definately tell our friends where to stay in Cabarete.

I stayed at the condo in Feb 2009. The place is beautiful. The pictures don't make it justice. Everything is within walking distance. If you're really lazy, you can always catch a taxi ride (it probably won't be more than 500m). Dealing with Pat was very pleasant. Highly recommended... in fact, I already booked another stay.

A perfect home away from home in Caberete

This is the second time that my husband and I have stayed at Casa Amber, the apartment of Pat and Bob, and we love the apartment. We have stayed at another apartment in Caberete and at other locations throughout the Dominican Republic, but Casa Amber is by far our favorite spot! From the arrangements of our stay and throughout the time there, we were impressed with the extra effort and special details that Pat’s took to make us feel comfortable.

In addition to the ease of working with Pat and her wonderful hospitality, we were thrilled at the quality of the apartment. Casa Amber was immaculately clean and is decorated with furniture in a modern style that matches the feel of the Caribbean. The kitchen has all the conveniences of home, including microwave, toaster oven, a coffee pot, all the dishes and pots and pans that we needed. There is also a washer and dryer which came in handy. The bed that we slept on was more comfortable than my bed at home. We stayed longer than we had planned because there is internet access and my husband could catch up on work while I relaxed by the pool.

During our stay, the pool was cold, but it turned out to be refreshing after a few hours in the sun. The beach is a short walk from the apartment and many days the sky is filled with the kites of the kite-surfers. Every night we walked to the center of Caberete using the beach to eat at the great restaurants there.

Overall our stay was wonderful and we are looking forward to the next time we can get to Caberete and stay at Casa Amber.
