Beautiful Property, Quiet Cottage
Review Submitted: February 26, 2009

I've stayed here each summer for the last 5 years...last summer for a month and a half! I am planning to do the same this year (if work will allow).
The best part about this place is the setting. It is on the edge of preserved, no-build acreage. The back yard is a large field with horses, trees and prairie grass. Most of our time was spent there: we cooked lobsters in the firepit and ate them on the picnic table outside under the stars, we brought a projector and shone the movie on the side of the house while sitting around a roaring fire.
Plenty of people can be accommodated: at one point we had 10 guests staying there...all with a bed!
Everyday at lunch, we would walk 10 minutes to the beach, then grab a quick lunch in downtown Barnstable Village...or get a sandwich from the general store and eat it on a towel in the sand.
I have been all over the Cape, and I think that Barnstable Village is the best spot...it's close to the airport and all the conveniences of Hyannis...but not TOO close. If you have a bicycle, bring it! I don't think I used my car but a few times.
It's a wonderful, simple cottage that has shone me many a good time. It's the perfect setting to relax, and I think it represents Cape Cod wonderfully.

Owner's Response: We hope all of our renters will have as nice an experience as 'Nick' did and that they'll fall in love with the Cape as we have. We plan to retire there in a few years, but offer it to others to enjoy 'till then.
