We bought the property the summer of 2005 on a visit to Maine. It was a dream come true for us. We were first introduced to Maine the summer of 1995 when my husband took our boys on the Boy Scouts High Adventure Trip to Baxter State Park. He returned from the trip a “changed man” and said he wanted to take me to experience this incredible place.
The following summer we packed up our car and four children and headed from Virginia to Maine for a week’s family vacation. Our daughter and three boys fell for Maine just as we did. Needless to say, we were never the same after that. Our family has been coming to Green Lake since the mid-90s and it remains a wonderful high adventure for us all.
Mark Gibb purchased this house in 2005
Our home is located on 5 acres with over 500 feet of lakefront waterfront. Literally, you have your own cove. The views of the lake are spectacular and almost every windows point towards the lake. It is very private and secluded. It is a wonderful vacation spot.
Our home is really a respite from the world. In fact it is a world away. You will love to listen to the loons a night as a cove is a nesting place for the loons every year. Loons, lobsters and lighthouses are all part of our special vacation home.
Loon Cove is located on a 5 acre wooded site that has 500 feet of
shoreline on beautiful Green Lake. The house is set on a secluded and
serene hillside with gorgeous views of the Maine sunsets. The site is
perfect for all types of water activities including swimming, boating
and fishing. Other recreational activities such as golf, hiking, and
bicycling are nearby. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are just 30
minutes east of camp.
Bangor and Bangor International Airport are just 30 minutes west. The
quaint little town of Ellsworth is only 15 minutes from the house.
Downtown Ellsworth has grocery stores, unique shops and restaurants
serving fresh lobster and blueberry pie.
The lake itself is a crystal clear, glacier lake with rocky shores.
Fishing is permitted on the lake, but a fishing license is required.
The lake has bass, toque, and land-locked salmon for catch.
