Comfortable, spacious home in quiet neighborhood 2 miles from Lenox center. Furnished with a tasteful mix of antiques and contemporary pieces, our home has a new eat-in kitchen (cherry and granite) with lots of room for group cooking and lounging, and many spaces, indoors and out, for congregating or peaceful private time. French doors in formal dining room open onto deck with Weber grill, and large, park-like backyard abutting woods. Living room has wood burning fireplace and oriental rugs, great for Scrabble games on cold evenings. There's HBO and wireless internet, too. Aside from proximity to Tanglewood, we are close to Shakespeare & Co., Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Barrington Stage, Berkshire Theater Festival, Rockwell Museum, 2 miles from town beach and 1 mile from hiking in state park. Outlet Village is 10 minutes from home. Lenox has many excellent restaurants and boutiques/art galleries, and cinema in Great Barrington (20 minutes) shows first run and art films

Bedroom 2 is on the main floor and we will convert from king size bed into two twins as required by guests. Bedroom 2 uses a full bath with shower in the hall. A recently finished lower level provides privacy for reading or viewing TV ( HBO), dvds or videos. Washer and dryer have their own room on this level, as well.

Notes: Interim weekly housecleaning/change of linens is not provided, but is available for an additional fee. Guests are responsible for final cleaning at $100, payable in advance. In general, pets are not allowed. Let's discuss this if you have a special situation. Unfortunately, our home is not wheelchair accessible. However, we do have a bedroom, full bath and tv room on entry level, and only six steps going up to living room, kitchen, dining room and deck. This should accomodate people with moderate difficulty walking and climbing steps.

more about our home and surrounding area: The house is truly comfortable for a family or several couples vacationing together. Bedrooms have window air conditioning units. There are perennial gardens both in front of the house and in the backyard. Huge and mature evergreens surround the property. There is a tv room as well as finished lower level with seating for conversation, reading or sleeping. New washer and dryer occupy their own room on this level, too. For those not familiar with the Berkshires, the variety of cultural venues allows for attending different performances each night throughout the summer. A large and diverse selection of both fine and casual restaurants offers continental and ethnic cuisine, as well as the ubiquitous burger and fries.

owner availability: We will be available to greet you and provide information about the house as well as our personal favorite restaurants and things to do. We'll make every effort to assure that you have the inside scoop on things to do that match your interests, some of which may be off the beaten path. Feel free to contact us with any questions

Accessibility: Due to its layout, the house should comfortably accomodate someone with moderate difficulty walking or climbing stairs. One bedroom, full bath, tv room and door to the backyard are at ground level. The living room, kitchen, dining room and deck are only 6 steps up from ground level. Please call to discuss more fully and decide if the house is right for you.
