Chappaquiddick has a rural feel to it, yet it is quite close to Edgartown center with its stately Captain's houses, shops and fine restaurants. You can spend the day in relative isolation, and then go out to enjoy the Town nightlife, or an ice cream cone and a stroll to the Edgartown lighthouse. The Trustees of Reservations beaches on Chappy are renowned for their fly and surf fishing. Kayaks and canoes are easily rented, as are bicycles.
